A feature of the default Google Maps application is if you double tap on the "My Location" compass rose icon, it will follow you on the map (with tilt and compass direction) as you move. Unless I am missing something, this same behavior is not available through the Google Maps Android SDK v2 unless you implement it manually, which is hard to do.
