DC confirms next year's Justice League movie is indeed titled 'Justice League'

Despite a swirl of rumors this week, the upcoming Justice League film won't have any kind of tacked on, hype-inducing addendum in its title. It's just going to be Justice League, according to DC Films' Geoff Johns. Last night, Johns tweeted confirmation that there won't be any colon or needless extra words thrown into the mix — at least as far as the first movie in this two-parter is concerned. So that shuts down rumors that DC was considering titles like Justice League: Gods Among Us, Justice League: Angels and Demons, or Justice League: You Won't Believe What Happens Next. Apparently the guy really did need to clear things up considering it's already got over 2,000 retweets.

Zack Snyder's concise and to-the-point Justice League opens on November 17th, 2017, with a sequel due in 2019. Kudos to DC for keeping it simple this first time around and breaking away from the ongoing colon trend, which in just the last few months has given us Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Captain America: Civil War, and X-Men: Apocalypse. Justice League 2 sounds a little stale, though, so it's probably not going to last long. And hey, Gods Among Us sounds pretty sweet — if cliché.
