Georgia's Governor Nathan Deal has to determine whether HB 859, the "Campus Carry" law passed by the Georgia legislature, should be signed. While I'm sure the authors of the bill had good intentions, it violates nearly every Republican principle on the books.

After the chaos of the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago, Senator George McGovern and his colleagues developed a series of reforms to the primary system, including getting rid of many "winner-take-all primaries" for his party. If you're concerned about Donald Trump winning the nomination, there's some good news. His losses in Kansas and Maine were no accident, as both contests are closed, limited only to party faithful. And future caucuses and closed primaries may deny Trump the GOP nomination.

The Diversionary Theory of Racism

"This above all: to thine own self be true," Polonius tells his son Laertes in the first act of William Shakespeare's Hamlet. And the bard's advice is good, as we find that voters may be picking candidates based on what they think they stand for, instead of the candidate's real...

No, Donald Trump, We Won't Win the War on Terrorism With Bacon

Donald Trump unveiled his Middle East policy by telling a tale about General John Pershing killing Muslim terrorists in the Philippines with pork-laden bullets, which "solved the problem." Not only is the story unsubstantiated, but using pork products against Muslim terrorists doesn't work.

Jeremy Diamond with CNN reported about a...

As someone who has attended Bernie Sanders rallies and written about his impressive candidacy, I expected him to prevail in the Milwaukee debate. But Hillary Clinton prevailed by going to the mat for her former boss.
