Goldsmiths University has been accused of racism after adopting the Palestinian flag (inset) for its kit (left) in a move the students' union has described as 'progressive' but has been branded 'pathetic' online. The union compared it to John Carlos' 'black power salute' (right) in the 1968 Olympics, and said it hopes its other sports teams also adopt the flag. But others say it is a method of 'pushing a divisive political agenda'.
