The MAT program enrolls approximately 15 students per year.
Among our students, we have a 90% graduation rate.
Graduates from the MAT program have a 100% success rate in receiving their NY State certification. All MAT graduates receive an Initial Certification in teaching Earth Science Grades 7 – 12.
To-date, we have had 65 graduates of the MAT program. Of our alumni actively seeking employment, 100% received an offer of employment upon graduation.

Program graduates also go on to positions of leadership within their schools (Science Chairs, Science Coordinators) and to participate in prestigious professional development programs for educators such as Math for America and the Teacher/Leader Quality Partnerships (TLQP) Program.
Program Demographics
We have had 86 students join our program.
Many of our students come from diverse educational and professional backgrounds including:
- 3 Veterans
- 52 Recent Graduates (Received their Bachelor’s degree in the past 3 years)
- 27 Career Changers (Out of school 5+ years, or older student with recent Bachelor’s degree)
- 24 Already have an MA or PhD
Half of our students have come from NY state while the other half have come from 17 other states.
Note: we only accept international students who are US citizens or legal residents.
We are currently seeking accreditation through Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
