Evaluation, Research, and Policy
The Museum's evaluation and research practices are designed to assess the impact of our educational programs on policies and theories of science learning. The goal is to provide an optimum science and cultural learning experience for everyone – children, youth, families, school staff, and adults – who visits our exhibitions and attends our educational programs.
Evaluation
The Museum conducts evaluations of its educational programs and exhibitions. Our evaluations measure whether a given undertaking has met its initial goals, and help us improve programs and replicate successes.
Research
Research
Discover our Research about the teaching and learning of science at AMNH. Research places our programs within specific theoretical frameworks, such as science learning for preschoolers and their families, partnerships for school change, or teacher education.
Policy
Policy
The Museum is endeavoring to inform policy initiatives at every level: city, state and federal. The Museum participates in working groups and commissions whose charge is to review research and make recommendations. These findings often are disseminated by policy organizations.
