Years into the future after Earth has been overly polluted and resources are running low, a science bear quickly comes up with a solution: a new chemical that will reverse the effects of pollution. As bears settle in space to avoid the pollution, the new found chemical is quickly launched in a missile into the atmosphere where it explodes and releases the chemical. However, the chemical begins to horribly mutate any and all bears infected with it. The science bear knew the effects of its chemical and uses the mutated bears as its soldiers to rule the Earth.

Bearkind's only hope is a new weapon known as Project Bearsaber, three bear cyborgs that are genetically enhanced to a super natural level. Beartz, the first Bearsaber, malfunctions and escapes to Earth before the project is complete. The remaining Bearsabers, Bearen and Bearna, are dispatched to eliminate the science bear and its militant mutant threat, and to neutralize Beartz if possible.

I have an Australian WiiU and 3DS

Both consoles are region locked, thus I’ve to import games on those systems from Australia.

I think that might finally arrive in a couple of weeks.

I’m sure there’s some players out there that take it quite seriously.

There definitely were in Ingress, despite having quite great raids across Sydney with drinks afterwards, regardless of being Enlightened or Resistance smurfs.

Revo, you’re investing in the wrong kind of magic!

I prefer the term wall chips, thanks, and they’re quite tasty.

One of our group actually walked a Team Instinct player through attacking a gym we just took over last night as she’d never done it before.

Since I’ve a 20Ah battery with 3 USB outputs, I could technically tether my Nexus 5 to my Nexus 5X and have the Nexus 5 run Ingress.

"I don’t think a lot of people stopped playing pokemon because of new additions, as much they stopped playing because it was becoming more of the same."

This is what caused me to lose interest in Pokemon. I loved it in the late 90s and early 2000s.

I cannot be bothered to keep Pokemon Go and Ingress open just to check Ingress for XM pools.

Yeah, the thing about powering up lower CP Pokemon, though, is as you level, you’ll innately catch higher CP Pokemon of the same type. As in like at level 3 you might be catching CP 50 Zubat, but at my level, I’m routinely running into CP 100-300+ Zubat.

So it makes more sense to not waste the candies and stardust on those low end Pokemon, as you’ll easily catch Pokemon that outlevel them as you progress in level without burning your stardust and candies.

It seems CP values are strongly tied to player trainer level. So powering up pre-evolution may appear to yield a higher CP Pokemon, it will still do so within the constraints of the max CP at your current level.

I’m actually sitting at about 32k stardust, because I haven’t bothered powering up.

Happens to me a lot as well, so I really do understand where you’re coming from.

I’ve been in situations where it would freeze on a Pidgey, reload in to a Pidgey in the same position, and it would just freeze again.

I never thought I’d find myself swearing at Pokemon.

They can go quick if you venture out, unfortunately. Catch every Pokemon, even if it’s a bloody rattata, zubat, or pidgey, as that’s at least 100xp, plus candy, which you can use to evolve them for 500xp (1000xp if you lucky egg it up).

I was the catgirl acquisition. :p.

There’s a lot of variables, it seems, when determining Pokemon spawn. Also wait until you’re higher level.

Loading something using more power than when the application is "stable" seems to make sense. It sucks, but it isn’t exactly illogical.

When you get the capture freeze, wait a bit before closing the app, then check your inventory after loading back in. The issue seems to be a disconnect between the server and the client. If the server doesn’t decide the Pokemon broke free, it will generally register it as caught and place it in your Pokemon inventory. If it broke free, you’re stuffed.

I haven’t really bothered all too much with powering pokemon up, since CP is based on trainer level.

When I hit 20ish, I’ll start worrying about it, as post 20 differences seem more negligible.

Went from 9ish (I think) to level 13 today in Pokemon Go.

I have melted so many Pidgeys for their candies. Soon… Soon I will use the egg.
