Valve just launched Steam’s annual Winter Sale, offering a wide variety of deals alongside the kickoff of voting for the first-ever Steam Awards.
The Winter Sale runs from now until 1 p.m. ET on Jan. 2. Here are some notable deals available now:

Microsoft today kicked-off its “Countdown to New Year Sale” with big price drops on a slew of titles including Battlefield 1, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Final Fantasy 15, Titanfall 2, Dishonored 2 and on and on and on.
The week-long sale, which includes price drops ranging from 10 percent to 75 percent off on more than 70 Xbox One games and about 50 Xbox 360 games from the Xbox Games Store, ends Dec. 28. Then on Dec. 29, a new slew of games will get their own price drops. Those titles haven’t yet been announced by Microsoft.
While the sales are good for everyone, people with a Gold Xbox Live membership get an extra bump on the discounts. And every dollar spent before Dec. 31 will count toward increasing your MyVIP Star Rank for next year, according to Microsoft.

Looking for a last-minute stocking stuffer? You can snag a copy of Final Fantasy 15 and spend the holidays with Noctis and the boys for just $34.99 today, thanks to an Amazon Deal of the Day.
The standard editions of Final Fantasy 15 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are both 42 percent off today, a big markdown from the game’s original $59.99 launch day price. Keep in mind the discount only applies to the physical versions of Final Fantasy 15. Digital copies are still going for $59.99 on PS4 and Xbox One.

BioWare’s 2010 sci-fi role-playing game, Mass Effect 2, is currently free to download for Windows PC through Origin. The only requirement is an Origin account.
Mass Effect 2 doesn’t appear to officially be part of publisher Electronic Arts’ Origin on the House program, which gives away free games; EA is currently giving away Dungeon Keeper as part of that ongoing promotion. However, developer BioWare said on Monday that it had five days worth of freebies planned for its fans.

Microsoft’s Black Friday deal for the Xbox One is back for the holidays: a $50 discount on the Xbox One.
The offer applies to all Xbox One consoles, including the Xbox One S, which debuted in August and supports 4K video playback including Ultra HD Blu-rays. Unlike the PlayStation 4 Pro, it cannot play games at 4K, although the PS4 Pro does not include a 4K Blu-ray drive. Both consoles support high dynamic range (HDR) color.

Sony is bringing back its biggest Black Friday deal for two weeks in December: a $50 discount on the 500 GB “slim” PlayStation 4 bundled with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, which brings the package’s price down to $249.99.
The bundle includes a PS4 and a disc copy of Nathan Drake’s acclaimed final adventure, along with the updated DualShock 4 controller, on which the light bar’s illumination shines through in a thin line at the top of the device’s touchpad. It was widely available at this price as a Black Friday promotion.

If you missed out on the NES Classic Edition — and many have — on sale over the past month, good news: Urban Outfitters, of all places, will have it on sale beginning Tuesday, Dec. 6. (Correction: An earlier version got the date right but the day wrong. It’s Tuesday.)
The sale is online only through urbanoutfitters.com. It probably is not going to last very long. A news release sent by the company did not say exactly when the NES Classic Edition would be listed on their site.
As always, it retails for $59.98, though it goes for way more than that on the gray market.
