2/2: Under the guise of counter-terrorism, the UK has adopted the most authoritarian surveillance regime of any Western state, corroding democracy itself and the rights of the British public. This judgment is a vital step - however, our work is far from over.

Brilliant news fully justifying the amazing work of BBW and many others. I spent years telling the Lords that mass surveillance doesn’t work and destroys our liberty. But total respect for for his very, very brave revelations.

Voter ID: the government has proposed a nationwide rollout of voter ID. In 2017 there were only 28 cases of suspected voter fraud - in the entire country. However, this year a Voter ID trial resulted in 340 people being turned away - in only 5 areas.

You don't "tackle hate" by stopping people having private conversations. Lucy Powell's 10-min Rule Bill is being discussed in Parliament right now. It has support from David Lammy to Jacob Rees-Mogg. It doesn't have ours.
