We've recently implemented Adobe Analytics and are facing issues with intermittent logouts. When navigating through the report suites, the user will get kicked out to the login screen periodically-- some days are better than others. I've seen this happen in Chrome and IE.
Also, after entering a username and password- the login screen will get stuck in what looks like a refresh loop. The page will keep refreshing/reloading until all cached browser data is cleared, then the user may try to login again. Not sure if these two issues are related. Thanks!
My aim is to take a look at how many people are returning to our website through one specific entry channel (mass e-mail). So what I did was create a segment that contains only traffic that has a specific campaign ID to filter out the mass e-mail visitors. After that I'm looking at the following metrics:
- Visits
- Unique Vists
- Yearly Unique visits
What I'm hoping to see is that the yearly unique visits is declining relative to the unique visits. What I would like to verify is if the 'yearly unique visits' metric also respects the segment, does anyone know?
Let me give an example, consider scenario A:
- User enters through google natural search at moment A
- User enters through mass e-mail at moment B
When looking at the segment that filters for the mass e-mail, will this user show as a yearly unique at moment B, or will the fact that he already visited the site at moment A mean he's not a yearly unique visitor anymore in the scope of the segment?

I am looking where to find the "ef id" in analytics? I am having issues with my orders and revenue matching in Adobe Media Optimizer and Analytics. My rep is stating that I need to download the "ef id" in order to dig into why orders are not matching.
I don't seem to be able to add a Classification Rule for a ListVar. I can apply a manual (SAINT) classification to the ListVar but it does not appear in the list of available vars for classification in the Rule Builder.
Is that right? Is it a bug, or a 'feature' of list variables?
I noticed a processing rule was literally duplicated within a report suite. Can this produce any adverse effects? As dumb as this question may sound, I've learned that Adobe Analytics can do some really bizarre things sometimes, so I've learned to ask questions, just in case.
My client has web pages (not on AEM), that need to be integrated with Adobe Analytics.
Good news is that this site interfaces with EAI Layer.
1. How could we integrate this site with Adobe Analytics, ONLINE via EAI? I am aware that Adobe Analytics exposes its functionality in terms of web services, so this should be possible.
2. Is OFFLINE integration with Adobe Analytics possible, in that the site emits data continuously, and once in a while, periodically, this data is imported in to Adobe Analytics (batch wise)?
3. If this facility is existent, what should be format of that data?
5. If the web site has to take some action on the analyzed data (like a video shop, displaying predominantly horror movies for a customer, who has rented many horror movies already), how is the data fed back to the web site from Adobe Analytics?
I am interested in configuring a calculated metric for use in the pages report to provide end users with an easy to read and understand metric titled Average Page View Time in hh:mm:ss format rather than the out of box Time Spent or Average Time Spent on Page metric which includes custom logic and displays the result in minutes (ie. 1.88).
Here is my current approach:
Format: Time
Summary: Total Seconds Spent / (Visits - Single Page Visits)
OR
Format: Time
Summary: Total Seconds Spent / (Visits - (Bounces+Exits))
Making an export from Dataware house, I wish to know if there is a dimension or a metric I can add to get the order of viewed pages during a visit (visit number) for a visitor (visitor id).
Hi, one report suite has randomly disappeared from Ad-hoc Analysis and Report builder, however still active in Analytics. Any guidance on how to fix this would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Cohort analysis seems really powerful, but the implementation is a bit confusing.
Case in point: I want to examine the behavior of my Facebook visitors from February and see if they come back at all over the next 5 months.
So simple trigger, follow is just a "visit"
When I apply a visit-based segment (ref. domain = facebook), I get fewer original cohorts than when I make the same segment visitOR based.
That seems to indicate that it's counting you in my visitOR group even if you didn't come from Facebook in February but did in one of the subsequent months. That's not what I want.
When I use the visit-based version, are my future-month cohort revisits only counted when they, too, are from Facebook referrals? Also not what I want.
I want people who came to me from Facebook in February and returned -- with or without FB-referral -- in the subsequent months.
Here's a look at sample data showing the variance.
I would to know it Data Warehouse API is designed to be deprecated in a near future or can we base new dev on it?
Is there a way to access to all Adbobe Analytics segments using DataWarehouse.GetSegments method and not just legacy ones?
I want to break down my device type information that is now captured as Mobile, tablet or desktop into something drilled down into how many percentage of the users are hybrid machine users?Like phablets or 2 in 1s?
Is there a way to export ALL pages of a Workspace report at one time? The only way I can see to export is via Project ---> Download to csv, but that only downloads one page at a time for a given report. I then have to come back into Workspace, click on the next page of the report, and then download again. This is really frustrating when I have multiple reports and they each have multiple pages. There has to be an easier way, right???
I'm trying to find the release notes for when they made it possible to pass a negative number into an event. I've been doing it now for scRemove on products, and I'm just trying to find the documentation for when it came out. Does anyone remember when that was done? I need to find the general documentation, because it's not readily searchable nor findable in the help documentation online, but I know that it works, because we're doing it right now in our implementation.
Thanks in advance for anyone who has the link for when the update was made. I know it was within the past year to 18 months.
Greetings, I'm trying to create a segment to look at only Bounce (vs. Non-Bounce) Visits so that I can get the Unique Visitors for each. Somehow it's not readily apparent how I might go about this. A Bounce is a visit in which Adobe has only received a single server call, but there is no dimension "Server Calls" which I might set to 1, nor is there a dimension "Bounce" which I might set equal to True.
In Analysis Workspace, I created a freeform panel to report occurrences of our particular eVar33 (displayed as in rows), over 3 discrete time periods (displayed as columns). I then selected multiple rows in that report to highlight, and from those rows right-clicked to Visualize -> Donut the results, showing 3 donut charts (one for each time period).
I have routinely saved this workspace, and while the freeform panel renders when I open the file, the visualization pane appears - only blank.
Anyone having difficulty retaining donut visualizations?
I scheduled a Workspace Project to be e-mailed as a PDF starting today at 8 a.m. EST. However, nothing was sent around that time.
I went to Scheduled Projects to double-check my setup and a couple more recipients, and after clicking 'Update,' the report was immediately sent. I added a couple more recipients later, and another report was generated after clicking 'Update.' Shouldn't the reports be withheld until the next schedule time. I don't want to spam inboxes every time I update the recipients list.
I have been searching for a way to change the colours in the graphs and charts generated in Analytics as I can not see the differences due to a rather common red-green colourblindness.
Currently, only hover over, the axis, or displaying the data source to gives a reference for the values shown in the graphs. Can the graphs have an option to plot the number on the graph so that in print view of the workspace the numbers are visible on the graph itself?
I would like some clarification regarding the order confirmation page when we do NOT use s.purchaseID.
I found the below in the latest adobe analytics implementation manual (7/19/2016) page 233:
"If a purchase event is called without a purchaseID, a unique one is automatically generated based on the s.products and s.events
variables. This automatically generated purchaseID is stored locally as a cookie value within the visitor's browser, and is not sent
to any report suite tables. Manually defined purchaseIDs on the other hand are sent to a back-end table within the report suite.
The last five purchases made by a visitor (with or without purchaseID) are stored in the local cookie."
As said, even though we do not use s.purchaseID (I know it's wrong and we will fix that), some legit orders are missing. I suspect the logic described in the manual above might be the reason.
I completely understand the logic but would like to troubleshoot the issue/behavior and have a few more questions:
1. What is the name of the cookie that will automatically generate a purchaseID when s.purchaseID is not set?
2. This ID is based on s.products and s.events. Could you please be more specific and give me an example of automated purchaseID that will be generated based on s.products and s.events?
For instance, if s.products=";shoe;1;19.99" and s.events="event9,purchase", what is the value generated for the automatic purchaseID?
3. For some reasons, my client is not passing any value for the product name or sku for the s.products variable (ex: s.products=";;1;19.99). The actual product name is passed in an eVar...I realize I'm missing out by doing it this way but that's another topic and battle :-)
Do you think this way of doing (no product sku in s.products) would impact the generation of this automated purchaseID, given that it's based on s.products and s.events?
Thanks much for your help, I'm eager to read your responses!
Regards,
Olivier

Is it possible to have a dynamic calculated metric in a freeform table?
Example: A single row dimension (or group of segments) and a single metric with two date ranges I'd like to be able to calculate the % change (similar to how the summary change viz works, but I'd like this displayed as a column within the table for each row). Ideally the column would work similar to excel where the calculation is defined within the table, that way if Mobile Device Type is changed to Tracking Code, the calculation will stay.
Is there any way to download more than 200 rows of data in a single file. Right now, i could see 200 rows as maximum to display on the page and to download. Is it possible to download all rows of data in CSV?
we have form event start event I am trying to break this by props(page names). this was working fine before but now I am not able to see any data once I break this by props. where can I look into to fix this.
We would like to hear your experience of using the Adobe Analytics product. Feel free to post your feedback on this post and we would make your voice heard.
I was trying to replicate something similar to Justin Grovers post on content blocking for iOS 9 traffic, but I can't seem to get the normalization option to be in a selectable state (greyed out). Any ideas to what I'm doing wrong?
Calculated metrics are working for all named device types (such as 'mobile phone') but not for the 'other' category (which includes desktop). This functions correctly inside regular Adobe Analytics reports, but seems to be a Workspace bug. Anyone experienced similar?
I have projects containing several freeform panels. Is there a way to apply a single date range across all of the freeform panels/project at once? I've extensively search this forum, the Knowledgebase and watched the training videos. I am left without an answer at this point. Does anyone know where this info might be?
How do you un-curate a report in workspace analytics.
I have a workspace dashboard that I created and curated but now I want to have the same dashboard but not curated so I can use other dimensions to expand it further.
I used Data Range: Last Month and Dimension: Month in two of my projects, comparing metrics: page views, visits, unique visitors.
First project: freeform table date set to Last Month, with breakdown of last month, 2 months ago, last month last year using date ranges.
Second project, freeform table set to Last Quarter. In this table, I used month dimension instead, which automatically produced 3 months for that quarter in each column, side by side.
Problem: comparing both reports, monthly and quarterly: for the exact same month, let's say June or May: we get slightly different numbers for each metric. It seems that workspace is calculating numbers differently for June (dimension) vs. Last Month (June, time range). I did not observe that they are being rounded and the difference is always after the second comma. Ex. X,X,644 vs. X,X,636 or X,X,569 vs. X,X,553 or X,X,148 vs. X,X,143
We typically see a 3-5% variance in sales when comparing Adobe to our Business (SAP/BI) systems (usually Adobe is a bit low). What is considered to be a normal variance? What typically causes such a variance? For lack of evidence of other causes, I have always suspected that the tracking pixel (located 75% down the page) doesn't have a chance to load before the consumer closes the window. Other thoughts or sources of what is industry standard is most welcome. Thank you!
How can I hide the information that appears at the bottom-right corner of a "Summary Change" visualization? It's overlapping with the number and makes the visualization less readable. Thanks!
Hi,
I would like to report to moving of users who never logged in our website.
I want to set like text data like as "never" into the eVar values when they come to our website first.
If user would logged in our website, then I would change values of the eVars like "user".
Can I set default data like this?
I could not find any set box of eVar setting window.
Can someone confirm my thinking for me - I'm looking to see how many visits it takes for a visitor to complete a purchase (IE does a visitor come back on average 5 times before completing a purchase)
The only way I can think of doing this is to use Visit number as the dimension and then my purchase event as the metric. Does this make sense?
Does anyone know if it's possible to force Analysis workspace to generate a PDF in landscape? It seems very hit and miss as to how it generates and in portrait many reports look really squashed.
Hi, what is the criteria for service providers to be tracked as ISPs or Mobile Carriers? I ask this question because we have some Mobile Carriers which DO NOT appear in the Domains report. We have quite a lot of "Nones" in Domains report. Shouldn't every visit be attributed to a service provider?
I've created a number of reports in the new Analysis workspace. Over the last few days, however, I have been unable to export them as PDF. I get the 'success' message, but nothing ever arrives (and I have checked spam folder etc.)
Important: For an Analytics call to use the POST method instead of the GET method in AppMeasurement (a method of solving truncated URLs in IE), you must be using the latest Visitor ID Service implementation for Marketing Cloud.
however, when a POST is done the debugger will not show the request, omnibug won't show the request, observepoint plugin won't show the request. and even using firebug or chrome developer tools you have to take the post request information and run it through a url decoder like http://meyerweb.com/eric/tools/dencoder/ and then try to find 'pagename' to find the page name etc.
is there any chance of getting a debugger that works with post requests or is there some override that can be coded to stop post requests from any browser other than IE where image request length is an issue.
It would be very useful to set different report suites for each Freeform Analysis module, that way you could have a project that quickly summarized key metrics across multiple report suites. While this is similar to dashboard functionality, it would be much more useful in Freeform Analysis because it's dynamic and quick.
