Adobe Campaign - AEM Network diagram

Hi,

I'm looking to architect an integration between AEM and Adobe Campaign.

It looks like Adobe Campaign may need to interface to both Author and Publish servers.  Can we tell:

  • What happens if Adobe Campaign is in a separate zone?  Does it need to connect to the Publish via the web?  What if it doesn't have external access?
  • What are the endpoints exposed on each end?  Are the interfaces bi-directional (to cater for firewalls)?

It would be really useful if a network diagram was included in the documentation:

CQ5.5 integrate with exactTarget, bundle can't be started, throws com.exacttarget.fuelsdk -- Cannot be resolved

We use CQ5.5, need to integrate with saleforce java fuelsdk. The new service is registered in the OSGI but can't be started. Here is the error: com.exacttarget.fuelsdk -- Cannot be resolved. in the OSGI console.

Here is the definition in the pom.xml

Just wonder if CQ5.5 needs any additional libraries? or CQ5.5 can't integrate with exacttarget.

Custom adaptive form template & i18n

Hi, all.

When I follow this guide, I end up with a dictionary created under /content/forms/af/myForm/jcr:content/assets.

But, if I have a custom form template under /apps/myApp/fd/af/templates/myFormTemplate, how can I add a base dictionary to it instead of adding a different dictionary to every form created from this template?

Is that possible?

If it's not, what would be the most elegant solution for the problem of reusing the same dictionary entries between forms of a specific template?

Timestamp Optional and s.visitorID

I support a mobile application that uses the AppMeasurement library for javascript.  Currently I am only tracking online usage but would like to track offline usage as well.  To do so I would need to set the report suite to Timestamps Optional and set s.trackOffline=true in the code.  BUT I use s.visitorID to track my visitors since everyone must authenticate to use the app.  According to the documentation I cannot send timestamped usage (s.trackOffline=true) and set s.visitorID.  What alternative to do I have to setting s.visitorID to make sure that each of my authenticated visitors are counted as just one visitor?

Adaptive forms - visibility/access expressions and mandatory option

Hi.

We've been using adaptive forms on AEM 6.1.

As an author, is it possible to turn a field into mandatory only when its visibility and access expressions (on the script tab) evaluate both to true?
Or should I always write a validation expression in order to do that, repeating the visibility and access expressions?

As a developer, how can I make this easier for our website authors?

How do I view the path up to a success event?

I'd like to be able to see what pages a user viewed before the scCheckout event. In a similar fashion, I have pathing enabled on link clicks, but how can I view the link clicks that led to a specific success event?

Note: I'd like to do this via DTM.

Fallout Report vs Flow in Ad-Hoc (Discover)

I want to know the difference between the Fallout Report vs Flow in ad-hoc.

My understanding is that fallout in forces the order by using sequential segmentation (i.e. then statement).

However, I do not know what type of segmentation does the Flow report use. I assume unlike the ‘then’ statement, the flow report uses a direct sequence.

Can anyone help me out with this?

Using Profile script values in Offer

Hello Community

Please help me, I have a question to Adobe Target.

I want to use profile script values in my offers, so what I can get and set the values when a user perform a certain action, such as pressing a button on a popup, which I plan to show in my offer.

I already know that I can get the mBox values to be used in my javascript code, but I can't really find any functions, that will set & get my user profile script values.

This is how I get the values to be shown in a certain html offer.

<p>Profile Test value: <span id="test_value" class="newtext1">${user.profile_test1}</span></p>

then I can use it in my javascript offer like this:

var value = $('#test_value').text();

but I can't reach the 'test_value' in the profile script. Could someone please shown me an example or send me some links to how to use it the right way ?

is there a plan / time line for updating the Xamarin SDK for mobile apps? Currently included is iOS 4.4.2 / Android 4.4.2 which does not supportall mobile analytics features.

Neolane on OSX / How can I easily upload / rip delivery templates?

Hi all,

Right now I have "Neolane - Client console v6.1" running this on a Windows Machine.  I'm a developer so the only task that I wish to use Neolane for is to paste code into delivery templates.

I've recently migrated to OSX and this is the only piece of software that I need a VM for.  I'm trying to discover if there is a way to accomplish what I need without a VM as it feels overkill.

From viewing an Adobe demo video, it appears that Adobe Campaign runs on OSX

Questions:
Is the software in this video different from the Neolane that I use on the Windows machine?
If it is, what is this software? 
    Is it cloud based?
    Can I use my Neolane login details for this?
    Is this the login page? My Neolane client details don't seem to work, can the application version login details be used to login here?

Does Neolane have an API or something similar? 
    Can I FTP (or something similar) into the delivery template section to just drop Code (or rip existing template code for that matter) rather than having to manually login to Neolane and paste copy one by one?

Any help with this would be useful, I am struggling to get clear answers.

In next page report we get instances as default metric. What is the reason for it? What if I want to see visits metric in next page report.

5.6.1 Managing of 900GB CRX repository.

Hi All,
We have AEM installation 5.6.1 with a lot of media content. Mostly as photos. Now it 900GB and continues growing.
Tar optimization and Datastore garbage collector performs on regular basis.
But with such repository size it's too expensive activities.Because GC executes about 10 hours.

We're considering about S3 connector, but it's affect performance much if upload to S3 all datastore.

It's a good idea to share out DAM to other place or on separate datastore, but we have no solution how to do this. 

Please, advice some idea how to do this. Or tell some use cases how to manage such repository.

Are page-load variables sent along with event-based variables in DTM?

I've got a few props and evars that I set on page load for all pages on my site. If I create an event-based rule, do I need to set those variables again? It seems like they're being set already. Also, does this have any affect on pathing?

Hi, 

    I am trying to generate parsys component using data-sly-list as below. The issue is that the @path for the included parsys needs to be dynamic. How can I generate 'parXX' string dynamically in each loop execution?

Direct Call Rules - pageName

Hi 

I am starting to use direct call rules which appears to be working fine, I should mention that for these pages the URL does not change. 

When I refresh the page I get two calls going off, one for my direct call rule and the other from the main library, how can I prevent the main library from sending the image off only for certain pages?

Is Shopify coding benifial for SEO

I built my site using Shopify and have been doing alot of SEO work. I have made a small climb in rankings but not as much as I would have liked.

Would the coding used by Shopify in some way be holding me back or do I just need to adapt a new SEO approach.

Display default value of Dropbox

Hi, 

I have an adaptive form which I am pre-filling with some data from the currently logged in user. I also have a bunch of drop downs distributed among some child panels of the form. These should show their default value "Please Select" when the form is initialised. In order to do that, I needed to add this value to the prefill.jsp so that the drop downs are pre-filled. 

But the drop downs are on child panels which are  dynamically hidden/shown and when I generate a default DoR it 'detects' the value "Please Select" and adds it and the entire child panel to the DoR.

Is there a way to exclude them from the DoR when they are on a hidden panel and also have them show the default text?

Comments getting tagged as "unknown"

Hi,

I am using facebook social login feature to enable users to be able to add a comment using the comments component of AEM Communities. However, I see few issues:

1) Though my name is pulled from facebook and stored in JCR, it does not show against my comment. Only way to show if to edit my profile and add first name and last name.

2) I see other user's as "unknown" when I am logged in from Facebook account

3) When logged in as admin, I can the userId of all people who have entered a comment.

This is very confusing. And pointers to what I may be missing?

Creating Test on pages with React js

Hello,

I'm trying to create a test on a page that is built using React.js and although I can see the changes in the VEC, when running the test, the changes are not shown.  I did saw in one instance that the image flickered, then it displayed the original content.

Ad Hoc: why do I see "Page 1/1, 1-50 of 50" when there are more than 50 items?

In Dimensions and other dialogue boxes I can only see "Page 1/1, 1-50 of 50", despite there being far more than 50 items. 

Something seems to have changed a month or so ago.

Is this a known bug, or is there a config setting I'm not aware of?

Delete Adobe Media Encoder file in Documents

Hi There,

I have an 'Adobe Foler' in my Documents Folder - please refer to the attached image. Can you please inform if this folder can be deleted from my Documents Folder or how to re-File Path this folder elsewhere? I trust if this Adobe Folder is deleted is does not effect the Adobe Suite programs i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator etc. from working?
