The Old Barn

When traveling through the rural mountain area, you’ll find plenty of old barns in the rolling fields. This one stood out against the changing leaves as the late morning light hit it. The cool skies were beautiful that morning, making for a perfect scenic and rustic image.

Looking Glass Falls, a Different Perspective…

This is the same waterfall as last Thursday, but from a slightly different angle. Regardless of the angle, it’s still one of the best waterfalls you’ll find in North Carolina!

Light at the End of the Tunnel

Continuing with my series of photos from the mountains, this is an image of the Tanbark Ridge Tunnel’s south side. Beautiful color from the leaves provide the perfect backdrop for the stone entrance to this tunnel.

As with the other images, this is a 5-shot HDR blending, finished up with Nik Color Efex.

Looking Glass Falls

I’m going to play off of the fall theme of the photo from a couple of days ago, but add in a splash of water! This is Looking Glass Falls, in North Carolina, as seen from the bottom. This waterfall is easily accessible to all, even having a ramp to make it wheelchair friendly. My perspective required a little climbing over the rocks at the base but, if you just want to catch a great view, it doesn’t get any easier than this!

Like the previous shot on the Parkway, this is a 5-shot HDR blending. It was finished up with Nik Color Efex.

Yesterday’s Memories Fade Away…

It’s back to work today, after a long weekend in the mountains. The weather was perfect, with beautiful skies and a nice warm fall temperature. Although I still have yet to process all the photos, and can relieve the experience through them, the memories of the weekend are already starting to fade…

This is just a quick taste of what I experienced this past weekend, a 5-shot HDR blending of an image taken along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Finished up with Nik Color Efex, and Analog Efex 2.
