Backyard chicken coop yacht

This is the view from the "yacht". There is an additional picture of the outside at the link. The lower portion is a greenhouse. Looks like the city off in the distance. Pretty cool!

Brilliant!

Caspar Schols built this house outside Eindhoven, Netherlands. "He was 28 and had just quit his job at a technology firm to find out what he really wanted to do with his life. He lived with his mother and decided he would build a house for her in their garden. Without having any relevant experience in this field he designed and built a house all by himself."

Good for Caspar! We have plenty of people in technology. We need more of this kind of stuff, and people with this kind of vision.

Living in a dome

Interesting concept that is at once beautiful, while at the same time a bit disturbing. What's disturbing to me is the home placed inside the dome, while the dome acts as a sort skin, keeping the extreme winter elements out. If the dome was the house, it might be more appealing to me. It's the idea of a conventional looking home placed inside the dome that seems out of place. It's a sort of fantasy of living in a home that's in another climate than the one you actually live in. However, there is some appeal to laying in that hammock, staring at the outside, all the while a blizzard blows outside the protective dome.

Some great pictures of the inside at the link. http://bit.ly/2iEw9On

Summer cottage

This is in our neck of the woods, the Sierra Nevada Foothills. No pictures of the inside, but it looks like the far side is all window! Love the metal roof. Nice and simple.

Beutiful stained glass windows in Arizona. I love organic looking homes that are unique and different. This one would fit the bill.

"I have something to show you, follow me..."

I like homes that have secrets, and this one might have a few. I wonder how far back into the mountain it goes? A entrance to Middle Earth? Do these people ever get tired of that spectacular view, complete with two waterfalls. The only thing I would add, if it doesn't already have one is a skylight.

Woven refugee tents get their power from the sun!

Amazing woven tents that collect water, and energy.

"Each tent has its own water collection system, utilizing the natural channels formed by the skin to direct water to the storage point. By using a fabric with strong thermal properties, the tents can also convert solar radiation into power and heat collected water for showering. The strength of convection can also be used to draw fresh water into the heating system from an external source. The flexible design of the tents allow for openings to be made wherever they are needed to allow hot air out and to catch any cross-breezes. The tents also seal up tight in case of wet weather or cold conditions."

The Vanual

Here is a step by step guide to converting a commercial van into a rolling home/office. American filmmaker Zach Both, has been living in this converted ten-year-old Chevy cargo van for the past year. I like how he hid the stove under the counter, while the bed looks quite comfortable.

Seem's converting vans, trucks, and cars into living arrangements is all the rage these day's. People looking for an adventure, or a different lifestyle. Who among'st us hasn't thought about pulling up stakes and hitting the road? Some do, while others enjoy tasting the lifestyle on weekends, and vacations.

Home is where the heart is.
