Ice Diamonds on the Loose
Perhaps one of nature's most incredible work of art, Iceland's Diamond Beach is truly an awe inspiring sight.
You could easily spend hours just watching hundreds of ice crystals being swept into the black sandy beach and leaving exquisitely dramatic streaks.
The hardest choice you're going to make is to find which ice diamonds to shoot :)

Fabulously Beautiful Rio de Janeiro:)
Rio de Janeiro is easily one of the most misunderstood cities in the world.
Some think it's dangerous and too risky to visit especially for a solo traveller.
Others like me think it's one of the most incredible places on earth.
The reality is that any city has its dark side.
I love Rio and spent many glorious days and nights savouring its beauty. Not a single moment did I feel threatened. People are exceedingly kind and friendly 😍
But I also know that tourists have been drugged and ended up on the beach without their wallets.
But you can get mugged in other cities too. Even in places that are supposed to be 'safe'. While I wasn't mugged, a guy tried to steal my backpack while I was in a coffee shop. In Copenhagen!
It took but a split second of not paying attention and the guy took it and was about to walk out with my $10k+ gears plus passport and wallet. I screamed and ran to him. He got scared and dropped my bag before running out of the coffee shop.
It was the first time that I felt so threatened. Of all places, in Copenhagen!
Perhaps I got too complacent and trusting which broke my cardinal rule of traveling.
Lesson learned😊

This is why everybody wants to visit Tasmania:)
It meant to be a quick drive to the campsite... But somehow you find yourself driving on a dirt road, in the middle of the forest, late at night. And rapidly running out of gas.
You realise that either: a) you've entered the wrong address to the GPS or b) +Google decided to pull a prank on you.
Either way, you're in the middle of nowhere. And then you realise you just lost your phone signal altogether.
You start hearing all sorts of noise. You've arrived at the suicide route, where wombats, kangaroos, rabbits and assorted mammals come to die!
You see them looking at you as if taunting you with their shining, bulging eyes just before they jump in front of your car.
You try hard not to hit any of them.But you're too distracted by the thought of a serial killer about to pounce.
You keep telling yourself you'll get to the campsite soon. But the farther you drive, the darker and rougher the road gets.
You're now down to your last few litres of fuel. You want to turn around but you keep driving forward as if hypnotised by the dark road ahead.
Finally, you get to the end of the road only to find out it's a 4WD track!
You have no choice but to turn around.
At this point, you're sure that you're going to die... But first, you're going to try to get back to town and vow to avoid picking up any hitchhikers.
Meanwhile, the wombats and wallabies are now trying even harder to get killed and they're appearing in front of you more frequently and in greater numbers.
You want to stop and film. It'll make a great IG story! But you decide to drive on instead and try hard to avoid running over any of these suicidal maniacs.
It feels like an eternity but somehow you manage to get back to town unscathed. You fuel up, ask for direction to this campsite and find it within 10 minutes drive from the town.
You take a big sigh of relief as you finally arrive at your destination.
You get out of the car, look up and see this...a sky adorned with millions of stars. And Milky Way!
You smile, grab your camera, take a few shots and savour the magical moments of silence under the dark and starry Tasmanian sky 😊

Hello 2017!🙌
For a lot of reasons, 2016 has been a tumultuous year. Some even call it murderous after claiming so many lives, both the famous and the unknown.
If I could sum up 2016 for me in one word, it's CHANGE. I quit a secure and high profile job in March to pursue my own path.
I had a number of disappointing setbacks that I had to get over with.
BUT.... I also had a number of wins. I launched my property website, got serious about my photography and ticked off a couple of items in my bucket list.
I also won a big project that I am starting to work on. It involves photography and while I can't announce yet, I'm exceedingly excited about it.
In fact I'm currently running a competition (see above post for details) that you might want to check out if you're Australia- based.
Indeed, it's been a big year, and an interesting one at that. I've met so many incredible people here who continue to support me and inspire me to pursue what I love.
You all touched me in so many ways and my life has been richer as a result. Thank you for shining your light on me🙏
I wish you all the best for this coming year.
May 2017 be filled with unsurpassed happiness and beautiful moments.
And may you have the courage to pursue what you love and live the life you've always wanted.

For a lot of reasons, 2016 has been a tumultuous year. Some even call it murderous after claiming so many lives, both the famous and the unknown.

Iceland on a fine clear day:)
Iceland's weather is notoriously unpredictable, especially during autumn when it's mostly overcast and rainy.
So when you get a clear day like this, you get to fully appreciate the grandeur of its landscapes.
The mountains that soar to the sky, glaciers that go on forever...it's truly a photographer's paradise.
It's a place I'd go back to in a heartbeat. Perhaps in winter to enjoy its whiteness:)

The Enigmatic Landscapes of Scotland
It took me a long time to decide to visit Scotland as it wasn't high on my list to visit in Europe. Am I so glad I did!
To say I was impressed by the incredible natural beauty of the place is an understatement.
Scotland is one of those underrated places that just blows your mind away.
The landscapes are so varied and heart meltingly beautiful. This is particularly true in the Isle of Skye where everywhere you go is like walking into a postcard shoot.
Even the moody weather makes the place even more enchanting.
And yes, a week stay was too short so I'm planning to return next year to hike its famous peaks:)

Diamonds on the Beach
One of the most impressive sights you'll come across in Iceland is the Diamond Beach where thousands of ice diamonds or ice crystals are washed up on the black sand shore each day.
As a wave washes up these ice sculptures on the shore, it leaves a beautiful streak of white foam around them and creating wonderful lines and forms.
Needless to say, you can easily lose yourself just watching the show or trying to capture it:)

Walking around Edinburgh's historical and awe-inspiring Edinburgh Castle is like stepping into the middle-ages.
You get to enjoy an impressive collection of ancient artifacts, crown jewels and a war museum that keep you mesmerised for hours.
And when you step out of it, you also get to savour the magnificent view of this incredibly beautiful city.
It's a surreal experience and one that you won't easily forget:)
