Painting with a Camera...
This photo was captured at Skyspace LA, which is roughly 1000 feet above downtown LA. I used a long exposure and rotated my camera in small circles to get the look.

A Starry Night in Cambria
My brother Mike and his fiancée Allie got married a couple weeks ago at a place called Camp Ocean Pines in Cambria, CA. It was an epic event indeed! We had an entire kids summer campground to ourselves and it was one of those weekends that you will never forget. This was a shot I captured outside of our cabin around 12 AM.

Nestled beneath the redwoods
This was our 3rd campsite in Big Sur, but by far the most beautiful. I have attempted light painting before, but not like this. I used a small aperture to star the lantern in addition to a long exposure to blur the campfire. I painted the foreground with my flashlight, but it was a little too bright and created some pretty harsh shadows. But oh well, I still think it looks cool.

It's been awhile since we've had clouds of any kind in Southern California so I got pretty excited when the night sky looked like this the other day. It's not too hard to tell that I didn't use a tripod for this shot because of the ISO noise. But oh well, I thought it looked kind of cool nevertheless.

Racing to & from the Glow
If you saw my post earlier then this is the result from that effort. There were still sections of dark blur since I was shooting through a chain link fence, but the effect is minimal and I am more or less happy with the result. All in all, I only had to wait about 30 minutes for the light to dim enough for me to use a wide aperture in tandem with a slow shutter speed to get the results I was looking for. It was a nice, quiet street where I wasn't too worried about attracting any unwanted attention with my gear set up.
