Hi all! A quick post and run because I'm heading home today with a long drive. Will have to catch up with you all later in the week. Morning all! Tired today, I stayed up and photographed the eclipse last night. Hope I got some good shots to make it worth it. LOL Earlier this year I was able to witness and photograph another night time event. When we were in Minnesota, on the last night we were there we were driving back from dinner with relatives and we saw the Northern Lights glowing in the sky. When i got back to where we camp I went out in a field and watched and photographed them for a bit. The brighter area in the middle bottom was moving across in the exposure and was very cool. Week 19 - Long Exposure
Morning all! Yikes what a crazy week and day! It's almost been a week of Friday the 13ths! Sheesh. Anyway, here is my take on the theme for this week. I took this image of Gunderson Pond, no relation :-) , at Rollag, MN. This is a 20 second exposure at 3200 ISO and F4. I will be sharing the color version later today on my Blog because the lights on the water were rather colorful. I liked this B&W version a lot though because it showed the stars in the sky a bit better I thought. I'd love to hear others opinions after you see the color version though. Hope you enjoy my take on the theme and have a great day!

Hi all! A very busy but successful day for the most part today. I haven't had much time to relax until now. I shot this image on the locomotive I fire on as we were heading into the station and I had a moment where I was not busy with the fire. This is the horse power area of Rollag. I actually shot this image with my phone and I am pleased that it turned out OK since the train was bumping along at the time. Hope you enjoy it and are having a great day!

Hi all! Another lovely cool morning. Today's image goes back to a place I will be heading to in just a week and a half now. Where does the time go. This is a Showy Lady Slipper flower that I saw at the Tamarack Wildlife Refuge in Minnesota. This pink version is the state flower also known as Cypripedium reginae . Hi everyone, it's #steamysunday from the steam capitol of Minnesota! Co-curator +Paul Pavlinovich and I hope you will share some steamy images today! We like ANYTHING STEAMY so please tag us and the theme so we can find them. I'll be enjoying later as I am off to do some steam related stuff.
This image is a bit different for me because I like trains but last night I went on a ride around the big pond here at the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion grounds that was put on by these 2 steam traction engines. The one on the left is a 20HP Minneapolis engine that the hubster gets to take care of when we are here. I rode behind that one of course. :-) The other is a big Rumley. It was a lot of fun and a lovely evening for it as shown in my photo from yesterday. Hope you enjoy the image and have a great day! Catch up with you all later!

This is tonight's sunset here in the western part of the state and there were some storms in the area but we were good here. Made for some lovely clouds though. Hi all from Minnesota. We were at the head waters of the Mississippi River today. Lake Itasca is in the background and then water flows over those rocks and thus begins the mighty Mississippi. I walked across the river here, the water was not near as cold as I thought it would be. Hope you enjoy the image and are having a great day!
