The European beef cattle brought to Israel 60 years ago were bred for a rich pasture environment, not for Israel’s semi-arid desert environment. Texas longhorns are pre-adaptive to our desert environment.

The galilee is overflowing with non-native shrubs that burn at a higher temperature igniting trees and cause forest fires. The soil is very dry and lacks healthy bacteria and fungi. We will use holistic grazing to enhance Israel’s Galilean soil ecosystem processes by rebuild soil health, increase water and carbon absorption by increased grass growth and return life to dry Galilean soils, thru modern 21st century cattle ranching. Help develop the Negev with these desert cattle.

Israeli passive European cattle are under attack by jackals, wolves and cattle thieves. How much land needs to be stolen and how many families need to be attacked and even murdered before we help them? Texas Longhorn can solve this problem by simply lowering their sharp horns. Our children are protecting our farms, it is time for the rest of us to step up and do our part.

The first year we need $120,000 to start the project. Much of it will be spent on bringing embryos and equipment to Israel. The second year we will need $140,000 and the next three years we will only need $315,000 to help make project self-supporting.
