If you are beginning with Final Cut Pro X, or any editor for that matter, I highly recommend checking out keyboard covers for shortcuts. I have both physical keyboards and the covers that go over my own keyboards for 5 different programs, including FCP X, Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, and Motion 5.

Not that I am just starting out with any of the software I use daily; but, because I do use different software that all has different shortcuts, using these covers makes things a lot easier for me to remember "what key is where, and what key does what."
