All across America hundreds and thousands of people are participating in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. The #IceBucketChallenge is a social media phenomenon in which people post videos of themselves dumping a bucket of ice water over their heads after agreeing to make a donation to ALS research. They then challenge three others to either do the same or donate $100 to an ALS organization. The Challenge can be traced to Pete Frates, the former Boston College baseball captain who was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s Disease two years ago.
