A month ago a good friend of mine took me there to a private party. The waitress was, well to put it nicely, kinda rude and inexperienced. She kept walking past the table and when she finally did stop by, it was to deliver the check. However she was lightning fast in swiping my buddy's credit card. He was pissed and the non tip reflected it.

Good pizza, but not vegan. Reasonable price. Built on your own. I hope they can have more vegan cheese.

What an event!  This was an awesome way to come back and visit my DMV Yelp Elites in such a classy and intimate way!  It was great to see some familiar faces and of course, the awesomeness that is Gretchen aka NoVa Yelp Community Manager Extraordinaire.  TRIO really laid out the red carpet for us and their service throughout the night was friendly, informative, and outstanding.  Really, hats off to TRIO Grill!

The patio space provided by TRIO Grille was awesome.  It was a large, inviting, yet intimate space for the 20+ Gold & Black Elites and the weather was perfect!  

The little bites were delicious!  My favorite was the seared ahi tuna with a ginger salsa, wasabi sauce, and a cute fried noodle basket.  The little noodles reminded me of a Bird's Nest.  I love seared tuna but this was one of the best that I've had--a little tart, a little sweet, a little spicy and creamy, and a little crunchy all made for a perfect bite.  Everything was very well balanced.  Genevieve explained that this hors d'oeuvre was actually a bite-size version of one of their main entrees.  I was also impressed with the refreshing compressed watermelon, mint, olive, cantaloupe, feta cheese, and prosciutto skewers.  They were a perfect bite for a summer night!  The sweetness of the watermelon really complemented the savoriness of the cheese and prosciutto, and the mint leaf just escalated the flavor to another level!

To complement the appetizers, we also got to sample their cocktails!  I really enjoyed their Moscow Mule, which the server explained to me was special because of the particular brand of ginger beer that they used.  And I definitely agree that the ginger beer is what gave it a special edge!

Overall, I was just impressed with how generous and authentic the staff were at TRIO Grille.  They really made our night special and I appreciated all of their time and attention to each one of us as guests.  I loved the story of how they developed their unique key lime pie recipe by actually making a trip down to the Key West and trying all of the best key lime pies and taking the best parts of each to make their own recipe.  And, it was delicious!  Thanks for a wonderful event!  I will definitely keep TRIO Grille on my radar the next time I'm in town and will tell my friends!

Wow, what a great new treat in the hood. Everything was super tasty and our bartender (Paul) was very personable.

Mushroom soup was great, Caesar salad with tuna was great too. Monte Cristo was out this world. It shouldn't be legal to make a sandwich out of the bread they used. Then the rasberry pie...omg! Super yummy!

Hell yeah!

The Manoa Bakery Café in Annandale is a restaurant that focuses on fine Korean goods. This bakery is home to a variety of great custom breads and some impressive treats all around.

Located at 7326-A Little River Turnpike, Manoa has a great series of foods that are freshly made every day. I was certainly impressed at what Manoa had to offer when I came on over to visit this place. This place certainly has a variety of things for all tastes to enjoy.

A Brilliant Place To Eat

Manoa doesn't have anything too elaborate in terms of its décor or ambience. The place simply focuses on bright lighting and an open space with plenty of wood accents all around. The key focus here is on the food.

The people here helped me out by explaining many of the different breads and other products here for me. Considering that I am far from an expert on Korean cooking, this certainly helped me understand a little more about the things that were being offered here.

Plenty of Great Breads

All the breads here at Manoa are baked fresh each day. I was very surprised by how carefully baked everything is. The breads certainly pack in a good amount of flavor without being too crispy or soft.

How About the Entrees?

The entrees here at the Manoa Bakery Café were particularly appealing. I enjoyed the chicken quesadillas with the side salad and chips. The bread for it was carefully baked and the chicken was grilled quite well.

Great Desserts

Seeing how this is a café, it is no surprise that this place has a variety of dessert options. The Green Tea Bingo Bowl was especially great as it had shaved ice with green tea and frost flakes on top. It also had these clear gummy flavored items which had an amazing chewy, gummy texture to it. This was my first time having it and I really wish that I had tried it out sooner because it is so great.

There are plenty of hot espresso drinks and some iced drinks here. The iced sweet rice drink was an impressive treat as it had a light flavor without being too harsh. Chamomile and jasmine teas are also brewed every day with only the freshest leaves to create some strong flavors.

The Manoa Bakery Café has plenty of amazing options for all to look for when enjoying something great to drink or eat. The place has some amazing Korean entrees and drinks that certainly hit the spot.
