    I watched 3 episodes of this morning. I loved & . Pure bliss for me. Same feeling as when I was 10 & first read about Incas and Mayans. Can't wait to watch the rest.

    The first episode was brilliant and mind-altering. I'm an artist, and it was a profoundly moving look at the unchanging role of art in human history. I felt a direct connection to my fellow artists of Alta Mira.

    I've watched the first two episodes of and absolutely loved them! Totally engaging with stunning artwork and artefacts. Yes, there are things I disagreed with but history, art and culture should be a debate

    Such a sad way to be. Aged 7 I took my son to Rome as a surprise to see the Colosseum: I still fill with tears when I remember his expression as it came into view. Age 9 he donated his Christmas money to me for a coach tour round Athens, Delphi, Mycenae, Olympia. He loved it.

    Camilla Long in ST presumes "most people" dont want to know anything about ancient art or culture but "hurry past the rubble" Snobbish condescension to millions who unlike her are quite interested .

    Picturing Paradise, the episode in Civilisations really is the most revelatory and profound treatise on our world. Watched it twice already, it’s so captivating. Wish I had the transcript, history will judge it as something pretty special.

    Why miss out ancient Egyptian art completely? Or is that going on in the next one on human form artwork? Went from neolith to meso then Greek. Very odd.

    seconded - and there's a Holi sequence in programme 7 of ("Radiance") features in wonderful 18th century Marwar school painting at Jodhpur
