    Arrant nonsense. Why would anyone want to drive long distances when it's possible to kick back in comfort with food, drink, and entertainment on a fast, safe, high speed inter-city train? Of course, McArdle comes from a backward nation with no modern railway system ...

    Which brings us to the important point: unless you're ideologically devoted to environmentalism, the only reason you would prefer transit to cars is congestion. (There are people who take transit rather than driving because they can't afford a car, but they don't *prefer* to)

    This is a strikingly disingenuous piece of writing. Even Owen knows that Brexit is a disaster for the entire country, but rather than working to stop it by finding a path to revoking article 50 he is whinging about his party's goals. Use that effort to make it stop.

    Labour has long been accused of possessing a big red shiny 'STOP BREXIT!' button. We are about to find out that it doesn't exist, and that it never did.

    You see that thing after the word "comma"? It's called a colon. If you want the second interpretation, you put it after the word "strippers". Not having a comma before "and" doesn't turn the first comma into a colon, even if you name it after the place they punt backwards.
