Hey! Thank you. Yeah, I saw that I was getting a bunch of replies on my comment for that video, but didn’t bother reading them because I’m sure a lot of salty people disagree with me :p But I’m glad to hear you agree!

I think the thing that bothers me the most is that people are so quick to disregard Kanye because he’s Kanye and he’s doing something shocking again, instead of just judging the work for it’s purpose outside of Kanye as a person. Do I think everyone should like the song/video? No. Do I think everyone should like Kanye? DEFINITELY not. But I also don’t think they should disregard him as an artist either. Especially not because of boobs in a music video when one of the biggest TV shows in the world right now contains scenes of a girl getting groped and other fun stuff like that (fun stuff is sarcasm). How can they view one thing as having a purpose and not the other? It comes off as closed-minded.

I can think of a writer on here who uses foul language, like “cunt” and “pussy,” and describes sexually explicit situations in his vulgar poems. Should we all disregard his writing because of that? Hell nah. He’s a poet on here just like the rest of the poets I reblog and deserves the same amount of artistic integrity as any other writer does. We all have different viewpoints and stories to tell.

Kanye wrote a song that I interpret to be about inflated Hollywood egos and the media. A self-aware piece of hip hop. A jab at himself and what the world considers “entertainment.” He exposed the (wax) bodies of controversial famous people, just like the media exposed everything else about them. Word. I see a purpose to his vision. I see debates being had. I see people using their brains.

The only bad thing I see is people being quick to disregard someone’s work because of shit they’ve done in the past. And golly, that may just be the point! ;p

I’ll stop rambling now. Thank you for agreeing on some level with my comment on the video and for enjoying my blog! :)
