Being in love isn’t the whimsical infatuation and obsession that comes along with a new relationship. It isn’t getting butterflies when you see them, or good morning texts, or this overwhelming feeling that takes over everything else in your life. Being in love is wanting them to be happy and succeed. Being in love is knowing there’s no one else you’d rather have by your side, even when things are shitty. Being in love is working long hours and sending an “I’m thinking of you” text in the middle of the day. Being in love is caring and loving that person, despite their flaws. It’s wanting a lifetime with them and doing everything you can to make that happen. Being in love isn’t the honeymoon phase. Being in love is conquering all the obstacles that come along with life together, and at the end of the day, being glad they are the one battling beside you.
