Temple israel code of Ethics
As a member of our sacred Temple Israel community, I acknowledge our shared commitment to treat all members and staff with respect and dignity. I pledge to hold myself to a high standard of ethical behavior. My commitment includes, but is not limited to, striving to promote transparency within Temple Israel and maintaining the welfare of our sacred congregation as well as our Jewish traditions and values.
Accordingly, I will:
- Abide by all applicable local, state, and federal laws;
- Comply with all codes of conduct governing my business or professional affiliations, and avoid conflicts of interest between my personal, trade, or professional associations and Temple Israel;
- Take appropriate action if I witness inappropriate behavior in a colleague or congregant as specified in Temple Israel's policies;
- Respect boundaries between adults, and between adults and children;
- Not use my authority as an officer, clergy, or staff, or my participation as a congregant at Temple Israel, to treat anyone in the Temple community in ways that demean, harass, exploit, or otherwise cause physical, emotional, psychological, or financial harm;
- Conduct myself respectfully towards Temple property;
- Make every attempt to avoid even the appearance of wrongdoing.
Temple Israel will ensure confidential access to reporting mechanisms for anyone who has experienced/is experiencing or has witnessed/is witnessing any of the above violations. Such mechanisms include speaking to/contacting the Temple Israel President ([email protected]), Clergy ([email protected]), or Temple Administrator ([email protected]).

i Mordecai is both a comedic and dramatic true story written by the grandson of a Holocaust survivor ( played by Judd Hirsch) who receives an iPhone as a gift, at which time a series of events occur that upends his world. Co-stars are Sean Austin and Carol Kane. -

Film Premier: "MEMORIES ON THE MOUNT"

"Memories on the Mount" is a 30 minute film consisting of interviews with several long-term members. Their stories capture the significance of Temple Israel, not only as our spiritual home, but as a vital center for charitable activities, social action, and, most importantly, community-building in Northern Westchester and beyond. -

Brotherhood Breakfast with Acting Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins
Sunday, Jan 12th 10:00am to 11:30am
Acting Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins has been Deputy County Executive for 7 years but will be elevated to the top job when George Latimer resigns on January 2 to become a new Member of Congress. Our Sunday Breakfast will be one of Ken Jenkins' first public events upon assuming leadership of county government. Ken will be the first African American to head-up the County. -
