QUOTE OF THE DAY

“The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed— for lack of a better word— is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms— greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge— has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed— you mark my words— will save that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA.”

Stockman Warns Of The Imperial City’s Fiscal Waterloo

Authored by David Stockman via The Daily Reckoning,

It’s all over now except the shouting about Obamacare repeal and replace, but that’s not the half of it.

The stand by Senators Lee and Moran was much bigger than putting the latest iteration of McConnell-Care out of its misery. The move rang the bell loud and clear that the Imperial City has become fiscally ungovernable.

That means there is a chamber of horrors coming. With it, an endless political and fiscal crisis that will dominate Washington for years to come. Its cause is deep and structural.

We Must Elect Senator Kid Rock

Guest Post by Kurt Schlichter

The news that Southern-fried rock/rapper Kid Rock will be running for some timeserving Dem hack’s Senate seat in Michigan should make every normal American smile and spill a 40 to his homies. The future Senator Rock deserves your eager support for two critical reasons: First, it will drive the liberals insane. Second, it will make George Will and the rest of Team Fredocon soil themselves.

Kid Rock? Oh, well I never!” You simpering sissies. I’ll take his nasty stringy mop and torn wife beater over your preferred weasels’ coiffed politician/newscaster hair and Gucci loafers.

Working Toward Tripartite Racial Disunity: Maybe Not a Really Great Idea

Guest Post by Fred Reed

Regarding Latinos not as citizens but as internal enemies of America is an idea pushed not just by many racialist websites (e.g., Vdare).but also by Donald Trump. The outlook is particularly characteristic of something called the Alt-Right, a substantial if loosely defined group who are horrified at the thought of racial amalgamation. Hostility intensifies as one moves farther along the right wing to where the feathers end and giddy space begins.

It is perhaps worth noting that the accounts of Mexico in the anti-immigrationist literature bear little or no resemblance to the Mexico I have lived in for fifteen years. The streets are not strewn with garbage, it is not legal to screw little girls of twelve years, guns for home defense are not illegal, and Mexican school children behave like everybody else’s. The racialist sites often do not check facts, do not correct false claims when notified of them, and not infrequently simply lie. Many of the leaders seem never to have been to Mexico, speak Spanish, or have the foggiest notions of the world below the Rio Bravo.

History Repeats: The Continuing Threat to Freedom and Democracy

Guest Post by Jesse

Lately it has been popular in some circles to talk about the US being a ‘late stage democracy’ that has ‘never been more ripe for tyranny.’

Sometimes they like to drag in Plato to give their thought pieces a gleam of higher learning and a supposed grounding in history.

But their pieces fall into that trap, that very sort of temporal vanity and self-centered preoccupation to despair that Newman notes so well in saying that “every century is like every other, and to those who live in it seems worse than all times before it.”

Would you be surprised to hear that less than one hundred years ago there was an actual plot, bankrolled by some of the most powerful and famous figures of the American one percent, to use military force to depose a sitting American President and instead install a fascist in the White House who would be more compliant with their greed and lust for power?

The model for this takeover would have been similar to Benito Mussolini’s infamous ‘march on Rome.’

The Student Loan Bubble and Economic Collapse

student loan bubble III

The inevitable collapse of the student loan “market” and with it the takedown of many higher educational institutions will be one of the happiest and much needed events to look forward to in the coming months/years.  Whether the student loan bubble bursts on its own or implodes due to a general economic collapse, does not matter as long as higher education is dealt a death blow and can no longer be a conduit of socialist and egalitarian nonsense for the inculcation of young minds.

The perilous condition of the student loan sector can be seen by looking at a few ominous pieces of data:

If You Are Going To Buy A Car, Do It Right!

buy carThe fundamental law of supply and demand reigns supreme. When supply is much higher than demand, it’s a buyer’s market. For savvy auto buyers, with a little patience, good values should appear as the 2017 model year winds down.

While on vacation in Indiana, my regular lunch time walk to the local hamburger haven included a short cut through the sales lot of two large dealerships. They are loaded with inventory; balloons, sales stickers, and banners are everywhere. I love the sign in an $88,000 SUV, “Free car washes for life!”

I noticed one thing missing – CUSTOMERS!

Since the 2009 crash, loose lending standards caused auto sales to climb steadily, until recently.

Auto sales are declining. The Truth About Cars published May sales results:

Court: Warrantless requests to track cellphones, Internet use grew sevenfold in D.C. in three years

July 18

Sealed law enforcement requests to track Americans without a warrant through cellphone location records or Internet activity grew sevenfold in the past three years in the District, new information released by a federal judge shows.

Details about the growth come as the U.S. Supreme Court weighs whether to rein in such rapidly expanding demands.

Legal experts said the disclosure Monday appears to mark a first, and that neither the Justice Department nor private companies have previously made public such specific data about how often law enforcement agencies seek those court orders.

4TH TURNING INTENSIFIES AS RED PILLS ARE CRUSHED AND SNORTED

Even I find this one disturbing, especially as it was posted by Western Rifle Shooters Association, which normally has been firmly in the camp of the Constitutional Conservatives. Good God, this may get worse than I expected. Where are the blue pills kept? You know, I know this steak doesn’t exist. I know that when I put it in my mouth, the Matrix is telling my brain that it is juicy and delicious. After nine years, you know what I realize? [eats the piece of steak; sighs contently] Ignorance is bliss.
