Who are we?

We are Susanne Friend and Tim Mann, the married partners in Friendly Aquaponics. We’re always completely honest ( see our “Marijuana Growing In Aquaponics” page). We don’t sell aquaponics equipment, which allows us to be completely objective about what works, what doesn’t, and what is way, way too expensive for you to even consider.

We learned our aquaponics the hard way: we had to figure out how to make a profit with our commercial aquaponics farm after spending all our loan money on an unprofitable technology we learned at a university.

We are the people who got the first aquaponic system in the world USDA Certified Organic in 2008; and the first to get it Food Safety Certified in 2009.

We are the people who developed an easy-to-use aquaponic planting technology that puts 6.5 plants, on average, into every square foot of your system.

We are the people who developed a solar aquaponic greenhouse technology with integrated aquaponics systems that will save you tons of money on heating and cooling your greenhouse forever (and BTW, it’s economical to build).
