Tes Institute's teacher training and CPD programmes

Delivered 100% online, our subject knowledge enhancement (SKE) courses help to improve the subject knowledge and pedagogy of prospective teachers who are due to start initial teacher training. Available across the shortage subjects, these SKE courses are ideal for anyone with a non-subject specific degree, or a lack of subject confidence.

We’re working in partnership with a network of schools to deliver School Direct Initial Teacher Training (ITT) that leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). This school-led teacher training programme provides a unique blend of in-school experience and online learning with tutor support. 

Our Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) development programme and Assessment Only route is the perfect way for unqualified teachers, HLTAs, TAs, Cover Supervisors and other suitable school staff to become a qualified teacher without leaving their school. The programme leads to QTS and is personalised to the individual learner and the school.

Our range of continuing professional development (CPD) courses help teachers and school staff to up-skill and become confident in new areas of the curriculum and teaching concepts. Covering innovative teaching techniques, practices and resources, these 100% online CPD courses encourage peer-to-peer learning and allow teachers to fit study around existing school commitments.
