Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are the lifeblood of SAQA. This is very much a hands-on, member-driven organization. SAQA both appreciates and depends on each volunteer to be able to offer the breadth and depth of programming available.
In addition to the list below, we have lots of other volunteer opportunities. Some examples include:
- Serving on a SAQA Committee
- Working at the SAQA Booth at an event near you
- Coordinating a SAQA exhibition
- Participating in Regional Activities
If you are interested in volunteering for SAQA (or need a volunteer for your SAQA event or committee), please email [email protected].
Exhibition Coordinator
Please contact Exhibition Committee Chair, Gwyned Trefethen
Exhibition Coordinators act as the liaison between SAQA, the artists and the juror. It is an administrative job that requires strong people skills, allows for creativity in communication and needs computer comfort with spreadsheets and mail merge. The EC's role starts as soon as the prospectus for the exhibition goes public. The EC receives training from the Manager of Coordinators and is given a timeline of what is needed when. EC's do not have to be members of the Exhibition Committee, but sometimes are. Since exhibitions are juried blind, EC's may submit to calls for the exhibition they are coordinating.
administrative support
Contact Desiree Vaughn at [email protected] if you are interested.
- Assist with updating policy, guidelines, and supporting documents as it pertains to the regional reps. Must be computer savvy, have good language skills and be able to use Word.
- Update five Powerpoint Presentations
Online Curator (ongoing)
Members needed to curate online galleries on the SAQA website. Requires no special experience just an appreciation of our member artwork! Each curator develops a theme and makes selections from a list of available Studio Artist images. Contact [email protected] if you are interested.
