About Laurent Rossi

English/French Character Animator that has worked on feature films such as 'The Secret Life of Pets', 'Minions', 'Despicable Me 2' and 'The Illusionist'. Figure/Life Drawing is my passion and as well as being something I take great pleasure in doing, also has a very beneficial impact on my professional work in terms of anatomy, weight and movement. When drawing the human figure I love using shadow to create volume and depth, I love trying to capture the weight and movement in an anatomically correct and yet loose manner, and above all, I love finding little attentions to detail that capture the essence of the model, especially around the face. I have lived across 3 different European countries and the US, and am now living in London, UK.

Education:

Studied Animation and Drawing at renowned art schools, GOBELINS l'Ècole de l'Image - Paris, ESAG Penninghen - Paris and The Arts University Bournemouth - UK.
