About the city

Dubbed ‘The Russian Hollywood’, Nizhny Novgorod is located 400 km east of Moscow and is known as the connecting point for Central Russia and the Volga region, encapsulating all that is inspiring in both these two neighbouring regions. The Oka river divides Nizhny Novgorod in two parts - the older Nagorno, and more modern Zarechny. In Nizhny Novgorod, one can find a blend of magnificence and provincial charm. Some come for peace and quiet, others the vibrancy of the big city. Next summer, the city will throw its doors open to football lovers from all corners of the globe.
