Thanks for the reply! Yes, it is mfi. To my knowledge it’s actually the very first controller that was manufactured for iOS gaming using mfi (could be wrong though).

Anyways, they are still available to purchase from sites such as eBay or Amazon. If you were to search Amazon with “Steelseries Stratus” it came up as the second result. There is a newer version, the Steelseries stratus XL, which is not the controller I’m talking about. Also, I checked and the white version is cheaper at $16.99 rather than $24.99 for the black if you happen to try and get one that way. Thanks so much for looking into this I really appreciate it.

Thanks /u/MichaelMcRooney! I'm also interested in using this controller because it's the most portable MFI controller.

Hi peeps!

I've turned on contest mode to randomise the photos and hide the scores, because otherwise the top comments in these threads are just the people who happened to be logged in when this post was made. I'll turn off contest mode and return it to "sort by top" in 24 hours.

I hope that's ok!

(And don't forget to view, comment & upvote other people's pics after sharing your own.)

Hi /r/photography, as you might know we have some affiliate links on our sidebar, SmugMug is one of these, they've sponsored our competitions in the past, and today they have provided us with a 40% off code, valid until the 2nd of January 2019.

Money from these links goes directly back to the /r/photography community, we use it for reddit gold and would like to run competitions again. The mods don't pocket any of it.

Hey /r/photography!!

Just over a month ago Flickr announced new changes which will be coming into effect on the 8th of January 2019. The big controversial change is the free account's allowance moving from 1TB to 1000 photos (deleting any photos in free accounts over 1000). We had a lot of big discussions on /r/photography about it:

I think the consensus is that this is probably a good thing. It will stop Flickr being a "dumping ground for 3 SD cards worth of photos from my holidays" and more of a "community where people share photos that are worth being looked at, with people who want to look at their photos". 1TB for free was a ridiculously unsustainable maneuver by Yahoo to pump up Yahoo/Flickr's active users before selling itself off to Verizon, I don't think any business that plans stick around can offer 1TB of photo storage for free without doing some nasty datamining surveillance state stuff. If you're not paying for it, you're the product, etc. etc.

But hey that's just my take on things, for official answers please ask Dan yourself next week! (9am PST, Monday 17th of December, 2018). You can leave questions in this thread to be answered next week.

In case you want to see what Dan said last time, here is link to his previous AMA with us: https://www.reddit.com/r/photography/comments/8k0ewl/ama_incoming_everything_you_wanted_to_know_about/

Edit: the AMA is in 2018, not 2019

Hey /r/photography!!

As we all know, Flickr was recently acquired by Smugmug from Verizon, and so we reached out to them and asked if they could come do an AMA with us! In case you missed the news, here was the reddit thread and their official announcment.

Don MacAskill is the CEO and Co-Founder of SmugMug, and will be here on Monday the 21st of May at 9am Pacific time to answer your questions about SmugMug and the future of Flickr.

Please post questions in this thread so they can prepare for the AMA :)

re: size vs ergonomics.

I want both options, I want larger options for those who like larger cameras, and smaller options for those of us who like to pocket our cameras.

I like owning one of each. I used to use both a Panasonic GX1 and an Olympus OM-D E-M1.

I prefer to have a bigger camera for professional event stuff (even going so far as putting a battery grip & flash on top), and a smaller camera for every day use & travel.

I like being able to use all my lenses on both cameras. And it's important to have a back-up body when doing paid work.

Hey /r/photography,

Sorry I've been missing for a while. Life got busy (and also we found some wonderful, capable new mods to take the reins).

I've just had my first solo photography exhibition, I held it this week because I'm turning 30 soon, and wanted to feel more like a legitimate artist while in my 20s.

If you're in Sydney, the photographs will still be up until 6pm today (9 hours from this post). Come say hi, we're at TAP Gallery Sydney. 1/259 Riley Street, Surry Hills.

I'll be recording a Q&A video in the gallery space at 3pm (6 hours from now), so I'd love to get some questions to answer! I'll be streaming the video on Facebook live. Here is the Facebook event

You can see the exhibition here: http://david-ma.net/gallery

The exhibition is titled “Parallel Horizons” and contains 18 of my favourite photos from the past 10 years of travel.

You might remember the first photo (titled "Parallel Horizons") from this RAW Editing Contest from 2014!

And this photo (titled "Quotidian") was used in this RAW Editing Contest just last year :)

-David Ma

Here is the Facebook live recording of the AMA: https://www.facebook.com/frostickle/videos/10155972918020923/

Thanks everyone who tuned in and asked questions!

I’m packing up the exhibition now, but I will answer all your questions as text replies.
