Why do half the warframes have a yellow name ?

The yellow name indicates that that warframe has a prime version.

Watching an ex-BL2 speedrunner pull up guns and name off the manufacturer's of each part and how they affected the gun's stats, and what an ideal set is for that gun was an eye-opening experience into a system I hadn't even thought to pay attention too.

Those guys evaluating a gun: Hmm, some decent parts, but that Hyperion barrel really hurts it.

Me evaluating a gun: Numbers are higher? Good enough.

Heh.

Nah it's a reboot/reimagining/retelling/rewhatever.

I'm hoping they do hell on earth and the icon of sin though. Would be so good if they nail it as hard as they did the 2016 edition.

AKA Doom Eternal.

Outside of geometry, the word 'bisected' just means divided into two parts.

Depending on where the bisection is happening, either they live or they die.

This is just my opinion, and I'm sure many will disagree, but I want to say this.

In every single comparison of science-fiction settings, two of them will always worm their way in and claim that they can always boast the top score in anything. These two settings are the Culture, and Warhammer 40K.

I'll likely explain my problems with comparing things to the Culture in a later post, but let's focus on W40K.

When comparing sci-fi settings, you can measure them by a series of categories: Scale, the size of a setting and its military; Planetary strength, what a setting can field in-atmosphere; Naval strength, what a setting can field in space; and Innovation, the thing which sets a setting apart in its own way (psykers, the force, element zero, etc.), something which cannot be easily translated to another setting. This is of course only looking at a setting through the lense of a power-based comparison to another setting, so please don't use this to judge settings on their own.

It has been my experience that most settings will find a way to balance these out, sacrificing one or two while excelling in others. Mass Effect is quite bland in terms of planetary strength, about average in terms of scale and naval strength, and above average in Innovation. Star Wars tends to be more balance, though the Naval strength is more apparent and the Innovation barely plays a role in most encounters. Star Trek falls behind on planetary strength, where a handful of soldiers is sufficient to defend a major military installation, and innovation, where most of it is limited to technobabble and lasers. By comparison it pulls ahead in Scale, with the largest factions ruling hundreds or thousands of systems, and naval strength, able to pitch forward hundreds of ships .

I could go on, but I'll stop now and hope I got my point across. So where does W40K sit on these scales? Too fucking high, that's where.

Planetary strength measured in the millions of soldiers, weapons like Boltors and Meltaguns, promethium, and it goes on. Fair enough, it can have a decent land force. Naval strength, massive fleets armed with similarly powerful weapons, if upscaled for the larger vessels. Scale, enough that the Imperium can afford to lose entire planets to the workings of their own religious order. Innovation, where both psykers are a thing and so is the warp. Every faction is like this, like they were written by that one kid on the playground who always wanted to be the best. It's too good at too many things, and this is why I dislike it for comparing things. I dislike it as a setting for other reasons, but those aren't important here.

And this would be so easy to fix. Just take any one of these things and tone it down a notch. Make ship-to-ship combat highly ineffective, reduce the strength of the grounded army, make it more clear just how dire losing a planet can be, and don't write any interactions between anything and the warp 'lol, warp wins because corruption and limitless demons.'

That's my two cents, and I've been awake for sixteen hours now so goodnight.

Vincent is everything that the Doctor sees in humanity as a species condensed and exemplified in one person. All that potential, turned away from evil and towards more moral pursuits. You see a little bit of this in the scene where Vincent explains how he sees the stars, and how the Doctor took Vincent to see the impact his work had on people.

Let's say you're facing off against a person with personal shielding. This shielding is strong enough that max heating your gun (in either system) will not fully deplete it.

With a thermal gun which dissipates heat mid-combat, you're pretty much fucked. In the time it takes for your gun to cool down, his shields will have regenerated.

With a thermal clip, you can resume firing in a matter of moments, allowing you to overpower the shields and defeat your opponent.

As for why they weren't used in the past: Stagnation. The Asari have been in space for millennia, but so far the Salarians, Turians, and even to a degree the Humans could be said to be as advanced as them. The Geth assault on Eden Prime and other planets during the Sovereign Crisis, armed with their clip-based weapons, spurred manufacturers and militaries into action.

War, war never drops*

War dropped for me the third time I fought Shadow Stalker. As I don't quite like single swords, I just used my Broken War from the Second Dream to build it.

I feel that. The single moment that optimizes that attention to detail is what happens if you choose to save Zulf.

I tried Warframe about a year or two ago. Played the first few missions and thought the game was a pretty dull 3rd-rate FPS. There wasn't anything broken about it or anything like that, it played fine, it was just unexciting action with bland levels. Got bored pretty quick. Did I just not put in enough time to get to the good stuff?

Honestly, it isn't a game for everyone. The gameplay really kicks in after about 3-4 hours of playtime, and the story takes a while to get anywhere. I would suggest to play until the 4th or 5th planet (planetary progression is super quick) before making a firmer decision.

That said, there are some things you can do to make it a better experience. Take some time to learn the movement skills and how to use and combine them, something which the game absolutely doesn't do. Grind up for a few weapons, perhaps a second Warframe. If you're more into the lore of a setting, I can only guide you to Youtube and warn that there are some massive spoilers built way into the lore, so if you want to experience the full impact while playing you'll likely want to avoid those.

Sweet. Where can one watch season 2? I think the first one was on prime, was it not?

Course she's alive.

Who in the dome has the skill needed to place the books everywhere? To build a legend that leads Agatha and co. right to her?

Temporally displaced Violetta, of course.

Why would Violetta need to hide?

Timeline shenanigans.

Let me explain my crackpot theory:

Steelgarter is trying to gain something of Zeetha's for some nefarious scheme targeted at Skifandar. When confronted, she pulls out two daggers and two small pistols. Over a few later pages, we learn that Violetta is presumed dead by Steelgarter, though no corpse ever manifests.

This is what we already know, and has been confirmed in the comic. Bear with me, 'cause here's where I lose it.

It's all about time in this dome. Tobber died while researching it, various people are trying to find out if it was murder or accident, and everything is being covered up. His research is destroyed. A leading researcher also dies when he comes to an epiphany. So what are Steelgarter's pistols? Failed attempts at temporal displacement engines. Essentially, moving something through time. I say failed, because they are unstable, and cannot be targeted to a specific time. Hence why Steelgarter was convinced Violetta was dead after using them, despite being well-versed enough to know a Smoke Knight when she sees one.

So where did Violetta go? Into the dome, years in the past. She's likely been around Sparks long enough to know not to mess with time, so she can't contact anyone who might recognize her in the future. She also needs a way to be sure that Agatha will only find her after her fight with Steelgarter. Hence the legend of the Boilerghast. Thin person, living in the walls, never really confirmed to exist. Despite what Quintillius suggests, Sparks don't seem like the type of people to invent someone like that. Indeed, from the way that seemingly every Spark in the dome has had an encounter with him. While some of them (laughing fish) can be chalked up to general insanity, the rest paint a picture of a person hiding away from everyone, and even leaving money in payment for something.

This is all pretty much baseless conjecture fueled by coffee and low sleep, and if I am right on anything in here I will be genuinely amazed and find some way to show said amazement.

In the episode where they go to mars. There was a bacteria that turned people into the flood. They could produce and expel water at will.

I believe the Doctor described them as water, patient, enduring, relentless. They wore down a metal door through erosion. And all you had to do was take a sip of water and you're one of them

Let's say a family is 4 people. You have 50% chance of getting snapped. For all four people in the family to be spared, the odds are 0.54 =6.25%

They would probably notice almost immediately as their social media accounts start blowing up.

But it isn't 50% per person. If it was, you run the risk of not killing half of everyone.

50% of the population getting snapped means each person has a 50% chance of falling under the "snapped" group.

If you flip a coin ten times, you're not always going to get 5 heads and 5 tails. The decision to snap someone isn't calculated at an individual level.

I might be wrong though.

From my admittedly little experience with the Flash, isn't his speed a non-biological thing?

the glove would snap out as well

What makes you say that? Seems to me that plot hooks (like the captain marvel pager) are exempt.

That's probably too Doylist for this sub :(

Clothes, weapons, and prosthetics were all turned to dust during the snap. The glove probably qualifies as one of those three.

Is there a reason to HA over Rage?

HA is more common, especially with how often the Ghouls come around. It does take 2 more points at max rank.
