If you suspect you are infected with Crypto malware (Cryptowall, Cryptolocker, TeslaCrypt, etc) DO NOT follow this guide! Please make a post instead. Your files are at stake.
Purpose & Scope of this Guide:
This guide is designed to assist you in removing malware from an infected system that successfully boots. If your computer is completely unable to boot due to malware, please make a post, as this guide will not help you. If you perform the following steps exactly as described, this will solve your problem in over 90% of scenarios. That said, not all malware is created equal, and not all malware removal tools are created equal. The tools recommended in this guide were picked because of their high success and low failure rates, measured on a very large scale. However, there will be times that this guide fails in removing malware. If that is the case, please make a post for further assistance, stating that this guide was unsuccessful. It is recommended to only accept advice from a “Trusted” technician. I am writing this guide in layman’s terms so that most people will be able to understand it with ease.
Disclaimer:
I did a coding bootcamp recently and rented a MacBook from them. I never downloaded anything onto it, but my whole life has been on this thing the last 6 months.
My several Gmail accounts, my many Reddit accounts, my personal emails, my online banking, my YouTube account and a metric shit-tonne of Pornhub and Xvideos lol
Obviously, I need to make sure all of this is wiped and is not retained anywhere on the laptop.
They said it's the student's responsibility to wipe it before returning, would Mac's built-in disc erase be sufficient?
Is there anything I'm not thinking of that could bite me in the ass here, like some kind of tracking software?
Thanks a lot.
So I have a data cap and want to download a few games, could I take the secondary hard drive from my desktop, use a usb to Sata cable and drive to my Starbucks with my laptop, download some games, and drive back to my place and pop the hard drive back into my computer?
As the title says, if I leave my PC alone for 5 minutes it will crash every time without fail. This is VERY recent.
My power is set to performance, my monitors never turn off and it never sleeps. I have no idea why it would crash when idle but if I am actively using it for hours it is fine.
Here is one of the dumps:

Hello, and thank you in advance for any help that you can provide.
I have an HP Pavilion p7-1254 PC. It’s just about 8 years old.
It was working fine until my child didn’t properly shut it down. I believe it idled for a week or two.
Now, the monitor is not receiving any signal. It never goes out of sleep mode, and when I press the monitor’s buttons, it wakes up, scans, and finds no signal from DVI, HDMI, or VGA.
The monitor has used the blue VGA cord for its entire life. I found an extra DVI cord at work today, but even switching them out didn’t help.
I went on HP’s Help site, and followed their automatic helper’s instructions. Several reboots, clear CMOS, tried to recover BIOS (Windows key + B), and even resat RAM and hard drive modules.
Nothing. No signal is getting to my monitor. Any tips?
can I delete the setup applications after installing an app like "Spotify setup" or "steam setup"
So I have a PC in the basement I want to remote control.
To make my life easier I wanted to ask if anyone knows of a FREE remote control program that allows me to turn on/off the PC via the remote control so I don't have to manually turn it on/off everytime I want to use it.
recently my old monitor broke, the old monitor had 1920x1080, the price to fix it was that of a new one so instead i bought a new monitor wich was 1366x768, and i am now having some perfomance issues in games that i didnt had.
For example with my old monitor for honor handled well, with rare fps drops on low, same thing with warframe, even when i leave everything on potato mode i still face constant fps drops and i have no clue on whats causing it.
here are my pc specs :
Processor- AMD Ryzen 3 2200G with Radeon Vega Graphics 3500 Mhz, 4 CPUS, ~2.5GHz
Memory- 8912MB RAM
NVIDIA GefORCE GTX 1050
DirectX 12
Thanks in advance
