I did OMAD every day these holidays but allowed myself to enjoy foods I normally wouldn’t, as a result I stalled over Christmas but gained not one pound. I’m back to the grind stone as of Dec26th and looking to white knuckle it through these winter months enroute to my next goal.

Why am I really doing this? Why is it worth the pain and discomfort?

I’m doing this to be a better Husband, Father and friend, hence my year of awesome isn’t about what I can do for myself, it’s how I can have success in weight loss but finally turn my eyes outwards (instead of inwards) and add to other people’s lives. No more will my heart be on my stomach or my hang ups, rather it will be focused on those I love and care about.

The greatest damage obesity does outside of the physical toll it takes, is that it causes us to fold inwards on ourselves. Life can’t be rich and meaningful when we are our own horizon. I want to be less about me and more about other people. Losing weight, while a personal and self focused process does afford us the opportunity and energy to expand our purpose. No more worry if we will fit in that booth, or those seats, no more worry about discomfort from uncomfortable surroundings that aren’t made for those of us who are overweight. No more of being subject to the whims of hormones, emotions and physical sensation so often centred around food. When we don’t need to use all of our energy to just get through a day dealing with complications wrought by our own excess, we can begin to pour into and invest in others much more effectively. This is what I want for 2020.

What do you want from 2020 personally? Comment below if you want, I’d love to read all about it.

Has anyone come across an app to log fasts as well as weight? Would be ideal to see the two across a graph to track progress. I’ve seen zero (their privacy policy is questionable)

If not, I suppose I could create a spreadsheet. I’m a bit of a “numbers” guy, it would help keep me on track.
