Youtubers will still buy FIFA Points, regular players who enjoy spending some money here and there will buy FIFA Points, kids in a wealthy family will still buy FIFA Points; and that leaves this community where a couple of thousands (with some luck) will manage to stop buying FIFA Points. EA didn't bat an eye.

You will have to wait until EA do a massive fuck up for a boycott like this to work, and even then people will still won't care because it's FIFA, it's a tradition to buy it every year by now. After playing well developed games like Sekiro or The Witcher it's just blatantly obvious how little they care about the game and just do enough for the people to keep dumping money into the game.

My solution was to not buy the game for the first time in 5 years and just play PES myClub (it's free) to scratch the itch of playing Ultimate Team. Not saying it's better, but you don't have to spend a cent to play that game mode and it actually allows you to build towards your Ultimate Team without worrying about chem or the meta. If you play FIFA just for the 'collecting cards' part of the game, this will be even better imo. I can only hope that with time and mouth to mouth Konami realizes they have a real chance to outdo EA without much effort.
