- What can I do if my reader isn’t working properly?
- What if I need to return my PayPal Chip Card Reader?
You can return your reader within 30 days of receiving it if purchased online from PayPal, or through the PayPal Here app.
If you purchased your card reader from an authorized retailer, please follow that retailer’s specific return policy––generally between 14-30 days. If the retailer can no longer accept returns and your card reader is defective, please return it directly to PayPal.

- Does my PayPal Chip Card Reader come with a product warranty?
PayPal offers a warranty covering any material defects for 12 months from the day the chip card reader is shipped. PayPal will replace a defective chip card reader free of charge.
Remember to follow PayPal’s written instructions regarding reader storage, installation, use, and maintenance to stay within the warranty limits. Any alteration or repairs you do on your own will void the warranty.
PayPal’s warranty covers the reader itself, but not cables, accessories, plugs, or power supplies.
