Starting an OPNFV User Group

First, please check the OPNFV meetup page to see if a group in your region already exists. Next, please consider the following when starting a user group:

Purpose

  • Level: Is your group for beginners, intermediate, or advanced?
  • Focus: Is your group for developers, end users, those looking to get started with OPNFV, or some combination?
  • Topics: Depending on the answers to the questions above, it might make sense to kick off your first user group meet-up around a specific topic of interest, or some challenge that you are currently working on. This will help focus the group and generate interest for those in the area to join your group.

Logistics

  • Venue: While meet-ups occasionally take place virtually, we strongly encourage meeting in person. Often, people are able to host these on premise at their own companies. If not, you can look to local universities, small technical colleges, college extensions, or area coffee shops for meeting space.

Communications

  • When starting a new user group, please send an email wiht you ideas and goals to [email protected]
