County Launches 2019 Online Resident Survey

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich wants residents to know the County has launched an online survey to gauge residents’ assessment of their local government, its services and their quality of life. The 2019 Resident Survey was mailed to 5,000 randomly selected County households in the first week of June, and residents who did not receive the questionnaire in the mail are invited and encouraged to participate online by clicking here.

The online survey for all residents will be open until July 19 and can be taken in English, Spanish, or Chinese.

Excellence in Performance Management

The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) has recognized CountyStat and Montgomery County Government for its data-driven management and reporting efforts with a Certificate of Excellence in Performance Management for the seventh consecutive year. ICMA issues certificates to organizations who track and report key outcomes; survey residents and local government employees; incorporate data into performance dashboards or other visual communications and foster the development of a performance culture throughout their organizations. Racial Equity Community Conversation in White Oak

County Executive Marc Elrich and Council President Nancy Navarro will hold a discussion to engage with residents on how County leaders can build a better and stronger Montgomery County that meets the needs of all residents through the creation of a Racial Equity and Social Justice Policy. The input from community conversations will be used to help the council develop legislation as well as assisting the executive in developing a plan for implementation. This is the third County-sponsored event of the first was held on March 13 in Silver Spring and the other was held on June 26 in Germantown. 

Ride On Flex Is Washington Region’s First On-Demand Transit

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, County Councilmembers Sidney Katz and Hans Riemer and Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) Director Al Roshdieh were among those who helped launch “Ride On Flex,” the Washington region’s first on-demand public transit service. During the pilot program, Flex will provide corner-to-corner service in defined zones in the Rockville and Glenmont/Wheaton areas. Standard Ride On fare policy will apply to the new service, which means riders will pay no more than $2 as they board. The 11-passenger Flex buses are wheelchair accessible and offer free WiFi. RADA Announces It’s Expanding to Germantown

RADA Technologies, LLC has chosen Germantown for its U.S. headquarters and manufacturing operation for radar technology. The company plans to add 50 full-time employees by the end of 2021, with 30 more planned in 2023. RADA will invest close to $4 million into the expansion project.
