The Judith Lady Montefiore College, established by Sir Moses in memory of his wife Judith who died in 1866, runs programmes of advanced Torah education and leadership training.
Its Semicha Course is producing a new generation of rabbis for the Anglo-Jewish community. By 2003 over 30 of its students had already graduated as rabbis.
Its Dayanut Programme, is preparing more than thirty qualified senior rabbis in the English-speaking world and beyond with advanced halachic knowledge in the topics of Marriage, Divorce and Conversion for Semicha ‘Yadin Yadin for the Diaspora’. The first of its students graduated in 2002 and several more are expected to follow in 2023.
Its Gap-Year Fellowship Scheme assists school leavers to spend a year in yeshiva/seminary in Jerusalem and provides them with supplementary learning designed to broaden their understanding of contemporary issues.
Its pioneering programme of intensive learning Learning for Women on advanced Gemara and Halacha and topics related to Halacha for women is intended to lead to a Yoetzet Halacha course, designed to equip graduates with the ability to advise women on questions relating to Tahara Hamishpacha.
Its Diploma Course (hopefully to be repeated) catered for lay men and women striving to enhance their knowledge of practical Halalacha as well as deepening their spiritual understanding.
Other projects are designed for community Rabbis and educationalists to develop high-level skills with the aim of enhancing their capacity to inspire others and apply innovative approaches to programme development
