Our most important task is to help protect life and property. We do this among other things by providing weather forecasts and warnings for private individuals, emergency planning authorities and government agencies.
The Norwegian Meteorological Institute has a free and open data policy. We want the greatest possible use, dissemination and further processing of our material for the benefit of society.
The three meteorological institutes SMHI, FMI and MET Norway together with Linköping University, represented by NSC, have explored the possibilities to profit from each other’s competence, experience and resources.
