About meCaptain John Belfield (23 June 1725 - 19 August 1801), Virginia landholder and Revolutionary War soldier. Son of Capt. Thomas Belfield and Mary Meriwether Colson. Belfield married Ruth Sydnor, and with her had several children.

Belfield commanded a troop of Light Continental Dragoons in the Revolution.

About my libraryBelfield's small library is listed in the inventory of his estate (PDF), ordered October 1801 and recorded 7 June 1802. His entire estate was valued at £2,773, 1 shilling.
