I have only logged about a quarter of the books I own so far, and am continuing to do so slowly, because it's damn tedious! I also originally started doing this (on Goodreads) mainly as a way to easily track my reading year-to-year, which isn't of as much interest to others, I'm sure. I dropped Goodreads because I didn't want to help drive sales for Amazon or be a volunteer content provider for them. I write essays that often intersect in some way with literary subjects on the blog below, and a couple of webzines. Ever since falling in love with the "Boom" period novels as a lit major in college, and then living and working in Central America off and on for five years, I've had a particular interest in Latin American literature, politics, and history. But overall my reading is eclectic, just with a general preference for things that "instruct and please in equal measure," as Cervantes (channeling Horace, I think) would have it.
