About the Author
Theodor Seuss Geisel was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 2, 1904. He wrote and illustrated more than 45 picture books under the pseudonym Dr. Seuss. His first picture book, And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, was published in 1937. His other books included The Cat in the Hat, show more The Butter-Battle Book, The Lorax, The Bippolo Seed and Other Lost Stories, Fox in Socks: Dr. Seuss's Book of Tongue Tanglers, What Pet Should I Get?, and Oh, the Places You'll Go. In 1984, he received a Pulitzer Prize for his contributions to children's literature. He died of oral cancer on September 24, 1991 at the age of 87. (Bowker Author Biography) show less

He was most widely known for his children's books, which he wrote and illustrated under the pseudonym Dr. Seuss. He had used the pen name Dr. Theophrastus Seuss in college and later used Theo LeSieg and Rosetta Stone.

The Lorax (Classic Seuss) by Dr. Seuss
This book teaches kids that not everything has a voice and that sometimes you have to be that voice for them. I love that it is so colorful, which helps grab the attention of the students that you are reading too. It also shows that not everyone in the book is a good guy and that it takes someone to show that person that they are wrong and that is ok.
This shows us the highs and lows, triumphs and challenges that come with pursuing one's dreams. The fantastic illustrations and rhyming make it easy for children to connect. Themes of perseverance and self-discovery emerge and teaching to brace a journey with courage and resilience.
This was a favorite book when I was a kid. My mom used to read it to me and then I read it myself. I look forward to reading this to my grandsons.
timeless and delightful children’s book that combines humor, rhythm, and a valuable lesson about trying new things. A book that can be as early as kindergarten until 12th grade. A fan favorite I'm my school as we celebrate Dr. Seuss birthday we usually read green eggs and ham while we are eating it! such a fun book
