Dark and Stormy Night Author Series: Phil Margolin Driftwood Public Library is delighted to announce the schedule of mystery writers for its 10th annual Dark & Stormy Night series for this October. The series takes place at the library at 4:30 each Thursday afternoon in October, with the exception of the last event, which, due to the anticipated audience interest and size, will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Lincoln City Cultural Center on Halloween! Eleven years ago, Driftwood teamed with the late Marcy Taylor to bring Northwest mystery writers to the Oregon coast. That first year was so successful that the series has continued every October, with only one break while the library was closed for its renovation in the Autumn and early Winter of 2009. For the 10th series, the library has asked some of its favorite mystery writers from past years to return, and the result is a very exciting lineup!
The series continues on October 17th with a visit from internationally bestselling writer Phillip Margolin. The author of 18 suspense novels and legal thrillers, beginning with Heartstone in 1978 and most recently this year’s Sleight of Hand, Margolin was a practicing attorney in Portland until 1996, when he took up writing full time.
All events in the Dark & Stormy Night series are free to the public and made possible by ongoing generous support from The Driftwood Library Foundation and from D’Sands Condominium Motel and The Anchor Inn. Questions about the series may be directed to Ken Hobson at Driftwood Public Library: 541-996-1242 or [email protected]. Driftwood Public Library is located at 801 SW HWY 101 in Lincoln City on the 2nd floor of the City Hall building, across the street from Burger King and adjacent to Price ‘n Pride Grocery Store.
