Dec. 21 marks the 50th anniversary of the launch of Apollo 8, the NASA manned space flight that first orbited the moon in Dec.

Ed Leftwich was recruited to the men's basketball team 50 years ago in 1968. The native of Burlington, NJ, became the first African American freshman to receive a basketball scholarship at NC State.

Dedicated 50 years ago on 26 Nov. 1968, Schaub Hall was originally known as the Food Science Building, and it was built specifically to house the teaching, research, and extension operations of the Dept.
