Media Internships & Fellowships

The Media Fellowships and Internships Program provides selected journalists with unique opportunities to gain an in-depth grasp of U.S. health and health policy issues, through site visits, briefings and discussions with policy experts and fellow editors and reporters. The focus is squarely on State, national and global health policy issues, with the aim of encouraging and informing coverage of the complex economic, political and medical issues involved for a broad range of audiences.

Covering Health Reform: A Webinar Series for Journalists

As part of its Media Fellowships Program, the Kaiser Family Foundation is organizing a series of webinars exclusively for journalists to address key aspects of the law, the implications for consumers, and strategies for connecting the dots for different audiences.

Media Fellowships in Health Reporting

Since 2011, the fellowship program has focused on the ways that different States are implementing The Affordable Care Act, and the implications of policy decisions for health care providers and patients. The fellowship program provides a week-long site visit and in-depth State-specific briefings for invited health and health policy journalists, with invitations tailored to the topics and issues addressed. Global Health Reporting Projects

Since 2010, the Kaiser Foundation has launched several projects focused on U.S. global health policy reporting by U.S. news organizations. These include an annual reporting fellowship program with The GroundTruth Project (previously with GlobalPost) and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, which provides an opportunity to engage and train young journalists as they research and report for a GlobalPost Special Report centered each year around a critical global health policy issue. Web Briefings

Global Health Web Briefings for Media

Kaiser hosts a series of interactive web briefings exclusively for journalists on key global health issues, featuring Kaiser global health policy staff and external experts.
