Technology Reporter

Inside Higher Ed, the leading national daily publication about the complex and compelling world of higher education, is seeking an experienced, enterprising reporter to cover technology issues. This job offers a chance to cover an industry in transition in large part due to technological changes, and to explore the cultural as well as practical implications of those changes.

Just a few of the issues on this reporter's agenda: the continuing spread of online (and blended) education, the impact of technology on the role of professors in the classroom, the devolving textbook market and the spread of open educational resources, and the emergence of new digital credentials.

Our reporters mix beat reporting, analysis and creative approaches to telling stories; candidates should be able to juggle multiple articles at once, and should like to dig deeply and to learn. Candidates should have at least two years of full-time professional reporting experience; a background covering technology and/or higher education is a plus. Inside Higher Ed publishes breaking news, features, commentary, blogs and other content (including audio and video) each weekday, and has quickly established itself as an authoritative, independent voice for its 2.2 million unique monthly users and 123,000 daily e-mail subscribers.

Inside Higher Ed offers competitive pay, good benefits (including heavily subsidized health, dental and life insurance premiums), and 18 days' vacation. Centrally located in downtown D.C. Interested applicants should send a cover letter, resume, and five strong clips to [email protected] or by mail to:
