Tsukiji Fish Market Tour:
Restaurants in Uogashi-Yokocho were originally for dealers and chefs who visited the market for purchasing their dish ingredients. Recently, those restaurants are earning a well-respected reputation among Japanese citizens and tourists for its fresh and high-quality dishes.
Although Uogashi-Yokocho houses appear simple and humble, the long wait lines are proof of the intense popularity for these fresh and reasonably priced sushi dishes.
The guide Kiyoshi will guide you every step of the way throughout the fish market, full of endless rows of fish, fruits, and vegetables. He'll teach you the history of Tsukiji and the food industry in Japan from his many years of experience working in hospitality!

Experience the energy and excitement of Tokyo's premier Tuna Auction at the infamous Tsukiji Fish Market with a professional and knowledgable tour guide! The guide Kiyoshi will guide you every step of the way to watch the Tuna Auction and teach you about the history of Tsukiji and the food industry in Japan from his many years of experience working in Japan's Hotel and Food & Beverage industry.
Be one of the first people to arrive at the Tuna Auction site at 3am to reserve your spot and see first hand as the early morning brokers check deep inside the famous tuna using flashlights as they assess the quality before the Tuna Auction. Then witness the infamous Tuna Auction between 5:30am and 6:00am. Participants will be able to experience this exciting daily event live and see the extravagant prices paid for high-quality tuna.
After watching the Tuna Auction, you will complete your morning with sushi for breakfast at a highly-recommended restaurant. The sushi will surely be the freshest fish you have ever eaten!

Important Information
Tsukiji Fish Market is a place designed for food professionals and was not originally intended for tourism. Be vigilant of the busy forklifts and carts working from the early hours of the morning. We also strongly recommend casual clothing and comfortable shoes for your safety.
- Groups larger than 5 people will be split into 2 groups.
- Please do not bring strollers or luggage to the market, as the passageways are very narrow.
- Your tour may be a group tour with other guests. We will always inform you prior to the tour.
- If you have a child please let me know in advance.
- You don't need to pay for lunch for the guide.

Saw and heard many amazing things!
Kiyoshi was on time and super knowledgable about all aspects of the market and of course the culture. He had many friends and acquaintances throughout the market that he introduced me to that would provide additional insight to my many questions.
At first we perused the outer market as that was all that was accessible before 10am. And please note - the outer market is wonderful. When Kiyoshi saw how much I wanted to get into the inner market to see the action around the fish he saw to it that we were able to go deeper and see some amazing things happening with the fish that was coming in and to take a look at the chefs and vendors selecting their goods for the day.
Amazing tour! Lots of learning. Lots of beauty and sushi for breakfast! Wear good warm shoes to keep your feet dry. Highly recommend! -

Culture Walk with Kiyoshi
We had a wonderful exploration with Kiyoshi in the Tsukiji Fish Market. He is very knowledgeable and familiar with the operation of the market. During the tour, Kiyoshi also gave us some unexpected experience such as having chance to chat with vendor and wholesaler, and experience the tradition temple blessing. Wonderful market tour with Kiyoshi
We had a wonderful (early!) morning walking around the markets with Kiyoshi. We started off watching the fruit and vegetable auction which was very interesting. When then made our way through the stalls selling fruit and veggies to the public. Afterwards we stopped for a delicious breakfast of sushi and sashimi. Following breakfast Kiyoshi walked us through the outer markets pointing out interesting typical Japanese food items and kitchenware. Finally we made our way through the fish markets and saw many variety of interesting fish - we saw many fresh and frozen tuna being prepared. It was a great morning out - we would highly recommend Kiyoshi.

Engaging & Interesting Tour
Kiyoshi-san is very knowledgeable and we had a wonderful time with him. He showed us around the market from a non-tourist perspective and we even managed to speak with a few of the local stall owners about their businesses. If you are there to have "tripadvisor recommended" 2 hours waiting time sushi, or just look to buy food stuff, I would not recommend this tour. But if you are there to understand more about all the different kinds of food that are commonly traded in this world famous market, I would highly recommend this tour with him. In all honesty, we did see many bored looking tourists sitting around outside looking quite lost and wondering what they were doing there - without having discovered this gem of a place.

Interesting tour
Kiyoshi was amiable and friendly. He was also very communicative and gave clear instructions prior to meeting him.
I had an insightful tour of the market as he explained and pointed out everything - until it all became a blur, haha. But it was very interesting and I am glad to have Kiyoshi to guide me through the market efficiently. It was a great morning well spent and I had an excellent lunch at a restaurant he recommended after the tour.

Cannot say enough about how amazing this tour was! Kiyoshi was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to show us all parts of the market while educating us on the different types of produce/product regional to Japan. He also knew the best spots in the market to stop for a bite or drink. Highly recommend this tour with Kiyoshi, what a treat!
