There was one very, very disturbing thing about this book. The hero pouted. A LOT!
I actually feel bad giving this book 2.5 stars. The writing's pretty decent (not amazing, but decent) and it has short flashes of humor and sweetness that actually made me smile. I'm a little in love with the love interest too, despite his very many, many, MANY pouts. Unfortunately, this book suffered from a severe case of CoFA syndrome.

Okay, yes, I'm a guy and this book is very pink, so let me give you a quick frame of reference: I like romance/relationship stories, and I can get just as excited about a good chick flick as I can about the next James Bond film. I enjoy all forms of "Pride & Prejudice", Sandra Bullock rom/coms, and I really enjoyed reading "Twilight" until the end, when it tried to become an action flick (I didn't even read the last fifty pages). 3.5 stars - Okay, this is going to be one of those books that I'm rating not for its quality but for how much fun I had reading it (sorry Mitch). The story is not great, but the dialogue can be pretty funny at times.

So, I'm a young working mother with NO time to get sucked-in to new books. I though I'd read the first page and then see what happens. Of course for the next 24 hours I was sitting under a lamp in a snuggie, giggling to myself, with my kid in the other room glued to FINDING NEMO and my husband practically starving to death. This book annoyed the shit out of me. I just couldn't find myself liking any of the characters. I stuck it out and finished the book hoping that ending would at least make this an okay read. No, it didn't.
The whole rape thing in this book really pissed me off. There was no consequences for the rapist in here other than Jamie slightly roughing him up and telling don't do it again.

Just reading the 1st two paragraphs of this book will give you way to be hooked.and all the way it gives me a lot of smile, laugh,giggles..at first im really interested on how they will work things out, im always looking forward on how or what ryan will do to get Jamie as his girlfriend.. i do love the story/Jamie-ryan love story.hahaha:D

The book trailer worked for this one! Sold me hook line and sinker, which is total first. I hadn’t read a review, I hadn’t seen a promo - I just saw that trailer. I think this is my first attempt in actually reading in a book the "superhero" concept that I am a big fan of. I focus mostly on visual entertainment for that matter, since there's at least one movie or show each year containing that ordinary man that gains supernatural strength, speed and so on and so forth.

I started reading this book in summer of 2014..as you can see...that was a long time ago...it started fun...and then just went downhill..if you read my reviews..you'll notice that I'm pretty nice with ratings..but this book screamed 2 for me.

I was eagerly anticipating BEING JAMIE BAKER when I saw it pop up on Around the World ARC Tours. In fact, saying that the back cover blurb intrigued me would probably be a huge understatement. This book completely pulled me into Kelly's warped world of a teen superhero. From the very first page, this book kept me turning the pages. I couldn't help but to love the characters that Oram created. From the main protagonist (Jamie - with her sass and mishaps) to the love interest (Ryan - who you can't help but fall for), I enjoyed everything about these characters!
